• The all India daily average rainfall scenario shows active spell of monsoon
upto the first week of August. Thereafter the rainfall activity may remain
somewhat subdued for about a week to 10 days. Monsoon would pick up
strength subsequently and remain active through the rest of August.
• Over northwest India monsoon is expected to remain active till about the
middle of August. Rainfall may subside thereafter.
• East and northeast India may continue to get good rainfall throughout the
forecast period.
• Central India is likely to experience active monsoon conditions till about
the middle of August, followed by a spell of reduced precipitation for about
two weeks. Rainfall would pick up towards the end of August.
• South Peninsula remains active till the first week of August, followed by a
short spell of significantly low rainfall for about a week. The region would
experience enhanced rainfall activity from third week of August.
