The Bozeman Lions Club collects used eye glasses, hearing aides, and cell phones, refurbishes them and provides them to those who could not otherwise afford them. Automatic External DefibrillatorOur new AED has been installed on the wall opposite the upstairs bathroom. If used within minutes on a person who is unconscious and pulseless from a heart malfunction, some individuals have been revived.

When a person is found unresponsive and pulseless, someone should get the AED, call 911, and start basic chest compressions. When the AED is opened, verbal instructions will be givenon its operations.

Thank you to everyone who donated and participated in Vacation Bible School this year! We had such a great time! We collected $632.12 to give to the Nepal earthquake victims. Thank you! Faith Formation classes are Sundays from 9:15 am to 10:15 am in the BCCC from October through April. If you are interested in volunteering with the Faith Formation program please let me know. It is very rewarding and a great way to be involved with ministries in our Church. Look for class registration information in the September bulletin. College CampusBACK TO SCHOOLThis time of year can be exciting for kids and parents, but for many families in the Gallatin Valley living paycheck-to-paycheck, juggling monthly bills and buying school supplies can be stressful, even burdensome. This is why Family Promise, The Salvation Army, and Holy Rosary Parish are teaming up to provide Tools for School, a program that aims to collect school supply donations to provide kids with the tools they need to be successful.

We need your help! School supply donations such as backpacks, lined paper, pencils, pens, scissors, crayons, colored pencils, and glue sticks are needed. Donations bins will be provided for your convenience at the entry ways to the church through August 15th . All donations are greatly appreciated! Attention Parishioners!If you have been coming to Holy Rosary and have not registered, please get a Registration form from the Entry way table and fill it out. You can put it into the collection basket, or mail it to PO Box 96, Bozeman, MT 59771 or bring it to the office. If you have Registered and moved, please contact the office with your new address, as we are getting many of the mailings that we send out back. This costs us money, and it costs you not being informed of what is going on in the parish.

Holy Rosary Parish Stewardship News

Being Good Stewards of Our Talents“You cannot live your strengths until you love your strengths.” This statement from Curt Liesveld, one of the authors of Living Your Strengths captures much of what we have learned about being stewards of our talents in the past ten years. Our talents are gifts from God. Growing as good stewards of our talents requires that we know what our greatest talents are, accept them, and develop strengths by applying our talents, and generously giving through them, as good stewards of the gifts that our talents are.

Many people do not naturally recognize their greatest talents let alone think of them as gifts. Hence Curt’s guidance to learn to love our talents before we can become good stewards of them. Let me offer an ex- ample from my own life to illustrate how this works. When I first participated in StrengthsFinder (the instrument based on talent research that helps people identify their greatest areas of talent), I have to admit I wasa bit underwhelmed. My first talent as described by the instrument was called “Ideation.” Those who know me would likely say they see this talent in me all the time. This is not uncommon: those around us recognize our talents more readily than we do ourselves. But for me, “Ideation” did not sound very practical. How could this be a talent? Of course I come up with ideas all the time. Doesn’t everyone? This is also common: our greatest areas of talent come so naturally to us that we may not even think of them as talents.

When I came back to my parish after receiving my first introduction to this process of identifying my talents, a colleague asked what I thought. I told her that I still had mixed feelings about “Ideation.” Her response was telling: “You know, Leisa, that our running joke around here is ‘look out, here comes Leisa with another grand idea!’” With that, we began to think together about how I could offer my Ideation talent in the many situations in which new ideas were needed at the parish. Parishioners and staff learned to ask me for ideas when they would be helpful. I felt more purposeful in ministry, and in my life.

A Stewardship Prayer

.All-powerful God, you are present in the whole universe and in the smallest of your creatures. You embrace with your tenderness all that exists. Pour out upon us the power of your love, that we may protect life and beauty. Fill us with peace, that we may live as brothers and sisters, harming no one. O God of the poor, help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten of this earth, so precious in your eyes. Bring healing to our lives, that we may protect the world and not prey on it, that we may sow beauty, not pollution and destruction. Touch the hearts of those who look only for gain at the expense of the poor and the earth. Teach us to discover the worth of each thing, to be filled with awe and contemplation, to recognize that we are profoundly united with every creature as we journey towards your infinite light. We thank you for being with us each day. Encourage us, we pray, in our struggle for justice, love and peace. Amen~By Pope Francis
