Dragons

Dragons, dragons, wonderful things.

They tickle your tummy, Their tails go ping.

I love dragons,

dragons are cool. You can put them in lava,

But not in a pool.

Dragons breath fire their greatest desire

They eat and they eat and they start growing higher

I have a question for you That I thought on the loo,

Do you like dragons?Do you like them too?

PhoenixesVolcanoes erupting from every glistening feather,

Swishing their flickering, flaming tail, Soaring through the night sky – Phoenixes.

Glistening crimson spinesForming stormy clouds around it

Immortality engulfing the admirable creature, Blistering breezes arriving from the wings

With riots of colour. Height and length affecting the glamour,

Just so strong it’s like a tractor,Pulling a cart,

Energy blazing from every gleaming toe. But old age consuming their shimmering body,

Ashes eventually whispering in ears, But the Phoenix evolves

From the end to the beginning.

Cats

Fur flies from fluffy bodiesPurrs perfectly through the night

Snores or silently sleeps

Loves to play as kittensBend their back when in a fright

Ready to pounce at the door.

That is what a cat is likeAnd if you look carefully

You will probably see it at night.

World War 2

We hide afraid of the GermansOn the last line of life

Rations limited as we starveLast light shines down

Devastated we slowly die

We stay strongAs our world is at war

Resisting temptation to fight

Today we fightWorld War Two is ending

On our way to victory.

The BombingFirst the planes, the sound racing

in and out of my ears.My friend heard an almost silent whistle,

it froze him on the spot. Boom.He pressed his hand over his eyes to

block out the pain,The blistering wound

Made himCrumple into a heap.

He withered on the floor clutching his stomach. His eyes rolled in their sockets,

Sweat streaming from his brows. He was dead.

It was as if the heavensWere being torn apartBy the booming crack

of German Bombs.A bomb boomed through a house

blowing it to its coreAnd exploding through the streets like fireworks.

The bombing had passed but left a corrupted destruction

Of screaming and shouting.

Now its time to stop

And ice cream has been beatWe shall remember the song

and sing it again

Chorus…

But I know what you’re thinkingWhat has it been beat by

Nothing, we were only joking. Now let’s have some to eat.

Family Love

A family’s many peopleWho love one another

I have two sisters, a dad and a mumWho love each other

I love them a lot

And they love me backAnd a family grows

Like a great stone stack.

So listen to me when I sayLove your family lots every day.

Mixed Emotions Filled with laughter, filled with glee,

Feeling joy inside of me, I feel happy can’t you see,

I have mixed emotions stacked in me.

Storming, thundering, raging with anger,Feels like you’ve been stabbed by a dagger.

Boiling, scorching, tense inside, Lions roaring it is now my guide.

Painful tears, distraughtness too,

Sadness drooping right through you. Menacing distress streaming

through your mind, Darkness in your reach to find.

Feeling strange and mysterious within, Consumed with jealousy watching

someone else grin. Sneakily hanging from a scale of 5, I want to be noticed to feel alive.

Broken promises, this destroyed,Warm and cosy it’s hard to avoid.

Trust is an emotion that’s loving and cares, It’s just like cuddling two teddy bears.

Happy, sad, anger, trust,

These emotions will never rust. But rising up proud and tall,

LOVE, the most important of all.

Cycling

Open the cupboard, get the gearJersey, shorts and gloves go on

Helmet fastened to keep me safeInto the garage where my bike awaits

Off we go on the roadWhere’s the field? I want to play

Over the bumps and through some mudSlipping, sliding all over the placeWe hit the hill and start to climb

Change down gears and push really hardWe reach the top and get ready to race

Who will reach the bottom first?Change up gears and pedal hardDown we go wind whistling pastReaching the bottom I am first

Hit the brakes and skid in the mudDon’t come off, the worst will happen

The bike and I will need a wash!

Success isn’t Given

Success isn’t given, especially in sport,

on the field or in the pool in every single sport.

When you work then you will succeed, sweat and bleed the occasional tear

but once you succeed you shall not fear.

Running with Fear!

Today I will run as far as I canAnd I will not stop until I am done.

I will run from my fears and run from the pain.

I will run today and no one will know that I am running away To an old fashioned bay.

When I run today I will not think, My mind and my thoughts will my legs overtake.

My muscles will pump and the blood will flow,

My joints will ache and my body will drain. But through all of this I will keep running,

Because when I run, to the road I’ve submit.

My mind will be gone in its own quiet place, And no noise will I hear nor smile will I fake.

Today I will run as strong as I can and today I will run with no finish line.

Thank you for listening, We hope you’ve had fun.

Poetry is awesome But now it’s all done.
