To all volleyball coaches: Thank you volleyball coaches for a great summer clinic. John Kessel was really excited by the number of coaches there and the participation of the coaches. Our last meeting I brought up a proposal to change state volleyball tournament to a true double-elimination tournament. I hope that we will be able to create a link to a PowerPoint that will explain the proposal if you weren’t able to attend. You will be receiving more information about nominations for all-state and all-star. Remember, when you nominate a player for the all-star team, please ask her first if she would like to attend. If she doesn’t want to, don’t nominate her. Also, if you don’t fill out the form completely, that young lady will not be nominated. Looking forward to a great state tournament. If you have any questions, contact me by email [email protected] or by phone 307-279-3272 (work), 307-279-3588 (home). Thanks. Bill Thompson WCA Volleyball Rep

COACHING CERTIFICATION “LIVES” We were informed that the partnership of the WCA and UW was a big part in retaining certification requirements for professional scholastic coaches in the Cowboy State. This is good news for our profession. It ensures “quality” professional training to best serve Wyoming student –athletes. There will be review and possibly some tweaking of the current requirements. However, we did not go backwards in establishing a high standard for quality in the area of school that has the greatest impact on kids. Be Patient and Stretch! The WCA is ONLINE! For “oldies” like myself, this can be somewhat traumatic at times. The bottom line for us is that we must move into the mode of communication that will best meet the expanding demands of coaching in these times and in the future…while saving us CONSIDERABLE money. We invite and appreciate your input and comments. Let’s move ahead with enthusiasm! Go to wcaonline.net
