Tom became an Airstream owner in 1980 and joined the B.C. Unit the following year. At his first rally (which happened to be the Installation Rally) Gene Van Iderstine discovered that Tom was a Chartered Accountant and immediately approached him to fill the vacancy of Treasurer. Tom held that position for the next five years. It then became necessary to care for aging parents. Consequently, while he maintained his membership, he was only able to attend the occasional luncheon or dinner meeting.In late 1997 Tom once again became active, serving a couple of terms as unit Vice President. However, once again he had to withdraw when his wife (Gwen) began to show signs of dementia. Even then, he chaired the Roster & Handbook Committee for a number ofyears. With Gwen now in care and much arm-twisting on the part of fellow members, Tom has agreed to resume his place on the path toward the office of unit President.Besides participating in Unit rallies and caravans, he has attended the following Region 10 and International rallies: 1986 International (Boise), 1988 Region 10 (Spokane), 1994 International (Brandon), 1995 International (Amherst), 2002 International (Rapid City), 2003 International (Burlington) and 2006 Region 10 (Lacey).When working, Tom was latterly a business valuation consultant.

R.B. who grew up in Grand Coulee, WA and Zelma who grew up in Lewiston, ID met while playing in the concert band at Eastern Washington University (EWU). They were married in 1955 and graduated from EWU with degrees in Education in 1956. R.B. immediately enteredthe Army (Signal Corps) as a 2nd Lieutenant and Zelma began her elementary teaching career. Joe lived his first 17 years in and around Maryland, later joining the Air Force. After 21 yearsin the Air Force and living in many places he retired in Sacramento, California, met and married Nancy in 1980. Even though Nancy was born in Cincinnati, Ohio she has lived in Northern California and Washington all her life. Nancy started Airstreaming with her parents in 1962. After many years of tent camping and an off-brand of trailer they purchased their first Airstream in 1998 while living in Antioch California. Moving back to Washington (after being gone for three years) in the spring of 1999 they promptly joined the North Cascade Unit (NCW), the British Columbia Unit and the Washington Unit. Joe has served as Director for the NCW and Nancy came up through the ranks serving all three Vice Presidents positions and then President. They have been to the Internationals at Bismarck, North Dakota; Burlington, Vermont; and Salem Oregon. They have also attended Region 10 and 12 rallies, most NCW and BC rallies and a few caravans here and there. In most recent yearsJoe was a bus driver, driving the commuter buses in and out of Seattle, now retired, (CB Handle "Bus Driver"), Nancy is a RN, retired in 2010. Joe has one daughter and two grandchildren in Marysville, California. Nancy has a daughter living in San Diego, California and a son, in the Navy, living in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We started trailering in 1967 with a teardrop. Ten years later we needed bit more room andgraduated to two other trailers before getting our Airstream in 1994. Jerry retired two years ago from Cascade Natural Gas after 36 years. Karen, who has been creating a park-like garden on five acres is trying to cut back some to make more time for travel. She also makes concrete garden art and is a Master Gardener. The last two years we spent two months in the fall exploring parks in the southwest states We both enjoy lake fishing and kayaking. We fish from our kayaks and Kola our miniature Schnauzer goes with us.

BC member since 2007, WA member since 2007 You might say that we have a split personality. We have been boaters all of our married life, then camping in the winter when we couldn't go boating. Our boating started in 1974 with a 14' Glaspar G-3, moving on up in size server times to a 32' Bayliner. We sold our 32' in July 2008 to downsize to a 28'. Wehave camped with a "red box" towed behind a '40 Chev. a cab over camper on a '78 Ford, then moved up to two different 27' travel trailers, before finally deciding to go to a vintage trailer. Our daughter talked us into looking at Airstreams and we picked p our 1963 Airstream 22' Safari in June of 2007. We then proceeded to "gut it" and completely rebuilt ininside, replace the axel, then polish the outside. One of the reasons for downsizing the boatwas so that we can spend more time Airstreaming. Dave retired in June 2005 after 37 years in the sheet-metal trade, with the first four of those years in the Navy as a Damage control man 2nd Class with two tours to Viet Nam. Since his retirement from the shipyeard he as started two businesses, one designing and building custom fireplace mantels and cabinets,and the other a consulting business teaching sheet-metal layout, pattern development and sheet-metal trade theor class. Both of these are part-time jobs tht give us the flexibility to travel more. Debbie earned a degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in 1975 and hasworked for te Central Kitsap School District for the past 21 years. She hopes to quit sometime in the near future to free up more time to travel. We have been married for 33

Bob and Gayle purchased their first Airstream in 1995, a 1978 31' Excella 500 They were quickly recruited by Bill and Colleen Elliott and joined Unit 121 in 1996. Bob soon went through the chair s and became Unit President for the year 1999/2000. He has since servedas a Director with the Unit. Gayle has served as First Lady, Corresponding Secretary and Historian. In the fall of 2000 they purchased their current Airstream, a 1991 34' Limited (60th Anniversary Model), that they hope to enjoy for many years to come. Bob retired from the RCMP in 2004 after 35 years of service. During that time they lived in several communities throughout British Columbia including Richmond, Cranbrook, Kelowna, Fort St.John and Abbotsford for eighteen years. After retirement we moved to Kamloops for four years and in 2009 returned to Abbotsford to a comfortable one level rancher. Since our return Bob has gone through the chairs again and is President of the Unit for this current year. Being back at the coast has brought us closer to the Airstream action. Our seven grandchildren keep the dust from settling and we enjoy every minute with our family and ourAirstream friends.

We were introduced to Airstream in 1967 (when Jeannie's folks purchased a new 17' Caravel) and later to WBCCI when they joined as 'Member at Large'. They were in Californiaand were invited to the National Hobo Rally. They enjoyed it so much they joined the Alberta/Saskatchewan Unit on their return to Alberta. They held numerous positions including President ad First Lady. Over the years we heard a number of stories of the adventures they had on several Caravans (National, Regional and with the Unit) as well as the fun enjoyed at International and Regional Rallies. In 1993 Mom gave s her 'Pride and Joy' and Dad sold us his truck with new tires to tow it. We knew then that we had to join WBCCI and experience the enjoyment the folks did. Thanks to Nick Kapty we found Unit 121 and with his help were able to retain Mom and Dad's membership number. Thanks again Nick! We have two sons: Scott in Calgary (wife Tammy and grandsons Hunter and Ronan) and Neil in Surrey (wife Cindy and granddaughter Kaylie). Both families have the travel bug and vehicles capable of towing our 'Silver Bullet', aka 'Peanut'. Since retirement, (Wayne 36 years in the RCMP, 17 transfers across Canada and Jeannie with numerous years as a High School Teacher) we have increased our travel experiences utilizing both ourAirstream and our 'SOB' Motorhome. Latterly we have taken cruises, most recently with theaid of a mini RV(scooter), to see and enjoy as much of the world as possible.

Lee and Shirley Look joined WBCCI and the Inland Washington Unit in 2004, the year they purchased their 2004 25' Classic Airstream trailer. They were both born and grew up in Washington state Lee retired from Seattle City Light, as their mechanical foreman on the Skagit project in Northwest Washington after 37 years of service. After moving to NortheastWashington in 1994 he again worked for Seattle City Light at the Boundary Power House and Dm for another 8 years. He now works December through February for Washington State Dept. of Transportation driving snowplow truck on the weekends! Shirley worked in themedical field, both nursing and radiologic technology for many years. She also sold real estate for 2 years before she meet Lee. Now she enjoys sewing, quilting, arts and crafts andgardening when her body will let her. They have 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Alex was born and raised in Vancouver and Arlene, although born in Swift Current, Sask., was raised in Deep Cove, North Vancouver. We lived our first 46 years of marriage in DeepCove then we transplanted to South Surrey in November 2006 after purchasing Alex's late father's property in Cranley Place; a community of manufactured homes. We enjoy three children; two granddaughters and a great-granddaughter. Our youngest son recently married into a ready-made family and we now have 3 grown step-grandsons as well as a lovely daughter-in-law. Alex served 5 years in the RCMP -- most of it in red serge with 2 years on the Musical Ride; posted to guard duty at official government buildings in Ottawa and he also wore red serge in Banff. After serving in the RCMP he joined the Vancouver FireDepartment where he retired as a Battalion Chief after 33 years of service. He wrote 2 fire department-related books ("It Began with a Ronald" and "Vancouver's Bravest" -- both labours of love). After spending the first 12 years of married life as a 'wife and Mommy', among other jobs Arlene held a District Manager's position with Avon prior to joining the Bank of Montreal where she retired as secretary to the SVP in February 2000. We joined WBCCI and the BC Unit in 1996. After owning both a 1975 25-foot Land Yacht and a 199029-foot Excella we now enjoy a 1999 27-foot Safari which we tow with a 2002 Chevy Avalanche. We started RV'ing in 1960 when we purchased our 1st trailer 13 ft., then a 15 ft., 12 years later a 20 ft. and in 1993 our 1st Airstream (25 ft. Classic), joining the Club the same year. Since then we have enjoyed numerous Unit functions, Region & International Rallies. We have led a number of Unit Caravans, the latter being a 57 day "North to Alaska Caravan". In1995 I became 3rd Vice President and continued on to Unit Presodent, later Chaired some committees. Kay has also held a Club Office, involved in some committees. I was employedwith Safeway Stores in Winnipeg & VAncouver for 40 years, 30 as Store Manager, retiring December 1986. Since that time we have traveled fairly extensively, to name some, 2 trips across Canada & all but 13 states of the USA Kay also was employed with Safeway Stores in Winnipeg & Hudson Bay Co. (Grocery Dept.) in Vancouver. After retiring from the work force, she did volunteering for many years. We still enjoy our travels, the life style, club activities & association with club members.

Larry was born in Kamloops and previously lived in New Westminster and White Rock. MaryAnne was born in Nelson and previously lived in mining camps (Sheep Creek, Zincton, Mineral King) Nelson, Lake Cowichan Invermere and Creston. Both now live in North Vancouver. They have two children (a boy and a girl) and no grandchildren. Larry is a Chartered Accountant and Mary Anne is a school teacher. They purchased their 1972 vintage Airstream in 2001 and on their first outing discovered that there was an Airstream Rally at the same campground in Harrison. Larry was further surprised to learn that fellow Chartered Accountant, Tom Akam was among those at the rally. Soon thereafter, the Parkers joined the British Columbia Unit. In addition to Unit rallies, the Parkers attended the 2006 Region 10 Rally in Lacey, Washington. Their non-Airstream travels have taken them toEurope, across Canada with a tent trailer and to Hawaii and California.

The summer of 2008 was their first with a new 23' Safari named 'Heavy Metal' and they have enjoyed many short trips in their trailer since then. It may be several years before they have the time to enjoy months on the road. Cindy and Monty with their business partner Dave Wood own Sheldan Wood Creative Associates, a busy graphic design and web development firm based in Burnaby and South Surrey. We purchased our first airstream in 1973 and joined the BC Unit in 1974 after attending a North Cascade Unit rally at Camano Island. We have both served as Unit presidents, and have held several other positions on the Board over the years. In addition to attending mostBC and North Cascade unit rallies, we have also attended several Alberta/Saskatchewan and Washington unit rallies, Region 10 and International Rallies. We have led a number of caravans - both numbered and not-numbered. We will be leading our first Region Caravan in2013 Gene spent many years in the car business as a manager and then as a partner in Langley Chrysler. In 1978, Gene opened a shoe store in Langley. Marilyn worked as a schoolteacher, teaching a variety of grades from Kindergarten to grade seven. Marilyn also taught art and music to both children and adults. Before retirement, we had a computerized customembroidery business.

I'm retired after 37 years of flying as a flight attendant with Canadian Airlines (formerly of CP)The passion for travel has remained. Having never camped or travelled much by car, suddenly there was an Airstream in the driveway and a whole other adventure began! (2008)The first trip with the Airstream was to Flon Flon, Manitoba and later, off to California. I attended the 2010 rally in Wyoming, and always spend my summers camping in Northern Saskatchewan to visit family. (Emma Lake) New destinations and new friends - who could ask for more? Paul graduated from Mississippi State University in 1965, with BS in Aeronautical Engineering, and minors in electrical engineering and mathematics. We met in Huntsville, at the boarding stable where we kept our horses. Paulhad a Tennessee Walker and Charli a Quarter Horse. We were married on Charli's Birthday in 1969 in Huntsville. Paul worked for Sperry Rand on the Saturn V moon-landing program.He met many of the German V2 scientists including Werner Von Braun in his work! Charli attended business college in Huntsville. She showed and trained horses and was an avid fox-hunter with horse and hound while in Alabama. She worked for two different Veterinarians in Huntsville. With the downturn in space efforts, Boeing hired Paul and movedus to the Seattle area in 1972. We have been active in hiking, mountain climbing, skiing flying, archery, hunting white water and horses. Charli took up archery and competed for 20years, holding the Washington State Champion in the Freestyle Limited division for several years. Paul retired in 2000 at 58 after 28 years with Boeing. Charli was a data processor inthe Kent School District, at Meeker Junior High for 10 years and retired in 2005. Paul has been an avid hunter most of his life. The high point was our South African safari in 2001 where he took numerous antelope species and a baboon. We lived in the Covington area onan 8 acre ranchette for thirty years. We have two children (boy and girl), four grandchildren (two boys and two girls) and two great grandchildren (boy and girl) The first time we really noticed an Airstream was in 1991 when we took our 'SOB' to Friday Harbor for our two week summer vacation. There we crossed paths with a vintage Airstream fromCalifornia (we didn't know vintage then). We even ended up at the same RV park. After wegot home, we saw an Argosy for sale and it was soon ours. Two weeks later, we drove to the Airstream dealer to see what ideas we could get to update our Argosy. Elain found a 1991 21' Airstream. Boy did she love it. It took 'us' three hours before we decided to buy it.We joined WBCCI in 1991, attending when we could and became very active when we retired in 1997. Between the two of us, we have held most jobs in the Northern California Unit. John was President in 2004. This is the first year since 1997 that at least one of us has not been on the Board, but Elain is currently the Membership Chairman and John is partof a three-person committee working on the Unit Bylaws. We have lead quite a few caravansand have co-hosted two Region 12 Rallies and a lot of Unit Rallies. We love our group and enjoy meeting new Airstreamers. We met Alex and Arlene Matches at the Boise Internationalin 1998 and are happy to be an Affiliate Member of the B.C. Unit

At that time Argosy was not allowed to join WBCCI so we then purchased a 1972 21' Safari and joined the B.C. Unit the summer of 1984. Next was our 1990 29' that we bought in California. We then sold that and purchased a 1964 22' Safari. Then we bought a 1993 25' Classic. Traded the 1993 in on anew 2011 27ft Classic Limited at Traveland. In 1998 we were President and First Lady of B.C. Unit and attended the Boise International Rally. We have traveled on several caravans over the years. Ron retired from B.C. Ferries after working 35 years for them. Carolyn worked for Home Care Nursing for several years. We have two daughters, two son-in-laws and four grandchildren. We spend our winters in Arizona and spend summers in Canada Airstreaming.
