FUTURE CITY TITLE Waterland City Proposal Summary This is a Tsunami Resilience City designed by our group member Kenneth Tan. The inspiration of creating this city came from the look of an umbrealla. Then through group discussion, we improved some of the weaknesses of this city. This city is located at the beach side of Kuching, Sarawak, East Malaysia. This city can fit around 150,000 citizen and it continues to increase at least 1% every year. The size of this city is around 38.5KM2 . By the scale of 1:20000 , this is the model of the future city we’ve done. We will also promote the green concept of the city by covering the bulding and living area with green plants and trees. To prevent Tsunami from hitting our city we have the highland which is the four sector covering our city. The sea wall are also constructed on the highland. The highland also is a argricultural area and wind turbines which provide food and power to the whole city. The building of this city is narrow and tall to enable the water derbies fuelled along the gaps with no reduction so water are able to dissipated. The green forest covering the city will retard the flow of large wave as it passed through the forest, which makes this city safe from tsunami. Proposal Summary This is a Tsunami Resilience City designed by our group member Kenneth Tan. The inspiration of creating

this city came from the look of an umbrealla. Then through group discussion, we improved some of the

weaknesses of this city. This city is located at the beach side of Kuching, Sarawak, East Malaysia. This city

can fit around 150,000 citizen and it continues to increase at least 1% every year. The size of this city is

around 38.5KM2 . By the scale of 1:20000 , this is the model of the future city we’ve done. We will also

promote the green concept of the city by covering the bulding and living area with green plants and trees.

To prevent Tsunami from hitting our city we have the highland which is the four sector covering our city.

The sea wall are also constructed on the highland. The highland also is a argricultural area and wind

turbines which provide food and power to the whole city. The building of this city is narrow and tall to

enable the water derbies fuelled along the gaps with no reduction so water are able to dissipated. The

green forest covering the city will retard the flow of large wave as it passed through the forest, which

makes this city safe from tsunami.
