Featherbase easeThe Featherbase used on Break-A-Way (BAW) slalom poles generates massive time sav-ings both in course setting as well as course removal. In none favorable snow conditions the savings will be even greater due to that nothing stays put like the Featherbase. Not even in dry cold snow, and therefore greatly limits course maintenance. Time that can better be spent on training and coaching, or running smooth competition events.

NEW! MID FeatherbaseOffers less recistance during course pulling, yet great performance. A great alternative for those that feel the Featherbase can be tough to pull out off the snow yet seek featherbase stay-put performance.

Shafts now with even greater durabilityBAW shafts have been among the most du-rable on the market. Since Nov. 2013 a new Polycarbonate compound was taken in to use, and since warranty claims are less than half of before.

Now with greatly improved hinge. The BAW hinges have often been considered the poles weakness. No longer! Since a year back it has been improved, and warranty claims have since almost disapeared!

WarrantyWe are so confident in our product that we offer a 1 year warranty on all flex-pole shafts, bases and flexes. The past seasons this has resulted in less than 3% average warranty claim rate.

WeightBAW gates are about 10% lighter than many competitors’ gates using metal hinges. It may not sound like allot, but matters when one carries 20-30 gate bundles.

HistoryBAW do not have as short history as one may think. It all originated in Östersund, Sweden. Liftbyggarna produced in the late 70's some of the very first flex plastic poles, that also where sold in North America. As Lift-byggarna decided to concentrate on lift building, US Reliable Racing Sup-ply (RRS) were given the permission to continue with what today is Break-A-Way slalom poles. And the first hinged poles ever to be used in a WC-event where BAW in Waterville Valley 1980. BAW was the official supplier of the Nagano Olympics as well as the WC-finals and World Championships in Vail. Since 2000 all WC-events at Beaver Creek have been run with BAW gates, and the Vail/Beaver Creek world championship will again be run with BAW gates in 2015.

B-net mounting.B-net is a safety net and must be mounted according to FIS-recommendations that in the event of a competition will be controlled and approved by a TD.B-net can have poles mounted every 1m, 1.5m or 2m , and be in rows of one, two or three net parallel to one another depending on the speed and terrain. In the case of parallel B-net they must be placed 2.5m apart so that the first net can lay back flat with-out elevating the skier way up or over the next B-net.

If the speed requires several B-net, but the terrain offers only room for one, then A-net is the only solution.

Several B-net in a row most overlap one another, with the lower one behind the upper one, and be tied together so that there is no chance that the skier can pass in-between the two B-nets.

Where the two nets should be tied together

Mounting of B-netSince the poles offer some elasticity, this elasticity can be used to generate the tension needed to keep the B-net stretched. Start by using the proper 35mm drill bit and drilling the first B-net pole hole at a 10-20 degree angle away from the net. Then the rest of the poles straight up and at such a distance from the previous pole that the fence is all stretched out. And finally end with again drilling the hole for the last B-net pole at a 10-20 degree angle away from the net to generate a pulling tension outwards at both ends of the B-net.

This same technique works very well on C-net as well

B-net can be arranged in many ways, not limited to examples below. However, these are the most common alternatives. This page illustrates how the different alternatives also effect the total price.

Alternative A.20m B-net with 2m pole spacing = 11 poles, each with 2 hooks (1 net + 11 poles + 22 hooks).

Alternative B.20m B-net with 2m pole spacing without end poles and 1m hanging ends. 10 poles, each with 2 hooks (1 net + 10 poles + 20 hooks).

Alternative C.20m B-net with 1.5m pole spacing = 14 poles, each with 2 hooks (1 net + 14 poles + 24 hooks).

Alternative D.20m B-net with 1.5m pole spacing without end poles and 0.75m hanging ends. 13 poles, each with 2 hooks (1 net + 13 poles + 26 hooks).

P1.2+FG. Poly-fence 1.2m high with sewn tunnels and Fiberglass poles

C-net or so called “Crowd control fencing” is not primar-ily used in order to stop high speed skiers from crashing into objects and hurt them-selves. But to keep areas nice and tidy looking at the same time as one directs people/crowds to where one wants them to be or go. Examples are lift lines, competition start or finish areas or kids ski school areas. We offer a variety of different C-net to fit most needs with different heights, colors and mesh count.

Recycle broken slalom pole sh-aftsOur C-net with sewn tunnels makes it possible to cut re-mains of broken old slalom pole shafts down to size to be reused as C-net fence poles. The uncomplicated mounting procedure makes it easy for anybody to slide in and secure the poles in to the sewn fence tunnels.

Alpine stretch bibs are available in 5 differ-ent sizes including FIS size Men’s and Ladies’ race bibs, Kid’s size, a larger Multisport size and the largest Sailing size race bib. They are all produced in high quality very elastic 4-way stretch fabric. Digital printing process allows virtually unlimited number of colors and no order minimums.

This type of race bibs are now spilling over in to a number of other sports. We have even developed a long sleeve race bib for special requirements.

Adult students often reject using a vest. Then a stretch arm band can be a better solution.
