2015
Message from the President Dear Members:
2015 has been a remarkable year at WCC. I want to thank everyone for the support and assistance they have
provided throughout the year. At the President’s Ball I neglected to acknowledge the contributions of Past Presidents
Roger Palczewski and Joe Shaw who were both tremendous sources of encouragement, support and inspiration.
There were many accomplishments this year. Marc Rosa was hired as an interim pro. He did such an
outstanding job that the Board unanimously decided to retain him. The kitchen was renovated to add some new
equipment and overcome ventilation and air conditioning issues. Please take a look at the Lake Erie room which is
upstairs in the northwest corner of the clubhouse. It has a terrific look and appeal. It is available for smaller private
parties.
Thanks in part to bookings for Monday outings and several weddings, the Club will enjoy financial success in 2015.
We also have had to deal with an eminent domain issue where the State of New York took property from WCC
behind the 15th green in order to place a new culvert underneath the road to carry water to the lake. Wanakah has
received compensation from the State for the land and will receive further compensation to restore the area where trees
have been cleared out by the State to gain access to the property.
The work of the State contractor has proceeded at a snail’s pace. We initially hoped it would be completed
much earlier, but we are now concerned that the State work may not be completed until the spring.
The Board has unanimously voted to place a berm behind the 15th green coupled with plantings in order to
restore the natural sight lines behind the green. We anticipate this will ultimately reduce and eliminate our view of the
road.
A decision was made to continue to implement the golf course master plan for holes 12, 14 and 17 in 2016.
We would hope to complete most of this work in the springtime but it appears work on the 17th hole may not be
able to begin until the fall.
We will make every effort to obtain project bids before the end of 2015.
2015 has been a busy and productive year.
There were many highlights during the year, but the best by far was the President’s Ball. This is always a
wonderful party but the Boys of Summer used their expertise to attract almost everyone to do the two step shuffle on
the dance floor. Oh, what a night!
The Club has reached record membership numbers in 2015. The combination of golf course events, increased
social activities, and excellent food presentation have all led the Club on a path to strong financial success in 2015. As a
result of this year’s financial success, there will not be any operational or capital assessment.
Our overall success is attributed to membership use and enjoyment of a great Club with everything it has to
offer. There has been a strong buzz throughout the year that we would like to duplicate in 2016.
I am confident that President Elect Jim Kavanaugh will keep the Club directed on the right path in 2016.
I am proud to have served as President of such a great Club.
Sincerely,
Kevin J. Sullivan
President

Golf Shop
December Hours of Operation
Golf Shop & Bag Room:
Wednesday-Friday: 10:00am – 6:00pm
Saturday & Sunday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
The golf season is quickly coming to a close after having great
weather this fall! The golf shop will be open until Christmas as
we prepare to reduce inventory and make room for the arrival
of spring merchandise. We recently received new equipment
from Titleist and TaylorMade for the 2016 season. If the
weather permits I would strongly recommended trying the new
TaylorMade M1 driver and the new 716 irons and 816 hybrids
from Titleist. Preparations have already begun to prepare for
the 2016 golf season and we would like to wish everyone happy
holidays and great offseason!
Winter Instruction
For anyone interested in winter instruction, Marc Rosa
will be available by appointment for individual and group
lessons. Please contact him at [email protected] to
schedule your appointment.
If you are traveling during the offseason

destination. ShipSticks is a convenient
way to ensure your clubs will arrive to your
destination and allow you to travel without
the hassle of carrying your clubs through
the airport. ShipSticks offers one-way and
roundtrip services with overnight, 2 day, 3
day and ground shipping. Call the golf shop
at 627-3472 to schedule your shipment!
