Scholarship GPA rumors:Administration clears up recent confusion

When the on-campus apartment list was released on April 15, students who could not claim one of the larger residential spaces quickly noticed that one of the current apartments was missing.

The apartment in GuThe apartment in Guffin Hall, located beside the Breezeway kitchen will officially not be used as residential space next year, according to Director of Housing Leah Mulhearn.

Along with blooming trees and April showers, the coming of spring heralds the annual chance for Eastern students to show off their vocal talents at EU Idol, presented by the campus chapter of International Justice Mission.

The results are in: Students elect next executive board

To end what was the fiercest campaigning for student office in Eastern's recent history, the Student Government Association announced the results of the executive board election on April 24.

As of Feb., there are no longer academic requirements for the Trustee's, Presidential, Provost's Achievement and Merit schol-arships. Instead of a student having an annual cumulative GPA requirement, Eastern students that make satisfactory academic progress will be given their scholarships for eight full semesters.

Nursing and engineering majorscoming soonBeginning in the fall of 2009, Eastern will be offering a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program to undergraduates. A nursing department has been in place at Eastern since 1980, but a BSN degree has never been offered to traditional undergraduates.
