WHO’S WHOMARTIN THOMPSON (Seth): Martin Thompson is a former newYork soap opera actor (All My Children, Guiding Light, TheEdge of Night) whose numerous award winning and criticallyacclaimed stage performances include roles at The Ameri-can Theatre of Actors in new York, Atlanta's Theatre in theSquare, and the world famous Barter Theatre of Virginia. Asa company member at Theatre 40 in Beverly Hills, he wasmost recently seen in two of Bitter Lemons’ “Top Ten Showsin LA” last season: Hellman v. McCarthy starring Dick Cavett,and Perfect Timing. In motion pictures, he co-stars with Kevin

Costner in The New Daughter, opposite Paul Rudd in Wanderlust, and withColin Firth in Main Street (the final screenplay by the legendary Horton Foote).His television credits include Lake Effects with Jane Seymour for Hallmark,NCIS: Los Angeles, Criminal Minds, Scorpion, Comedy Bang Bang, and thenew series Uncle Buck on ABC. Thompson is also a member of the acting fac-ulty at the new York Film Academy and the Los Angeles Performing Arts Con-servatory.

SUSAN DAMANTE (Mary): Susan Damante studied underWilliam Ball at The American Conservatory Theatre in SanFrancisco, with Atlantic Theater Acting Studios in new Yorkand LA, Milton Katselas and Jeffrey Tambor in Los Angeles.She has appeared in movies The Candidatewith Robert Red-ford, The Student Teachers directed by Jonathan Kaplan (TheAccused), The Wilderness Family (and its two sequels), aswell as numerous TV series. She also starred as Cam Fish in

the acclaimed short feature: Unending Hell. She appeared on the new Yorkstage as Bev McHale in Her Sonoma Story at the neighborhood Playhouse.She also directed the original play, Brodie And Ruth and was producer/cast-ing director of Willowbeewhich was showcased at the HBO/uS Comedy ArtsFestival in Aspen, Colorado. Susan is thrilled to be performing the role ofMary in Moral Imperative... thank you, David and Howard! This is her secondproduction at Theatre 40, the first being The Gamester as Madame Preferre’directed by Jules Aaron. A forty-four year practicing nichiren Buddhist withthe SGI, she dedicates this performance to her mentor Daisaku Ikeda and toher mother Marjorie, who taught her true resilience. KYOKO OKAZAKI (Karen): Kyoko Okazaki, born and raisedin Okayama, Japan is happily a new member at Theatre40. She received her arts training in Toyko from Stray DogTheatre Company and in Hollywood from Theatre of Arts.She decided to make acting her career at the age of 5,after appearing in Peach Taro as a devil in her kindergartenperformance. She is honored to make her debut appear-ance here at Theatre40 and grateful to be part of this won-derful production, under the direction of Howard Storm.

Her love for theater has been seen in many theatrical plays such as Burai– Standing All Alone an original scripted Japanese Samurai Play by naokiFujiyama performed in English at the Aratani Theatre and Theatre Theaterin LA. Her other credits include Katana in Santa Monica, How To Meas-ure Happiness at The Las Palmas Arena Stage, I’m an Actor, They Don’tGet It at Tre Stage in Hollywood.Her voice over credits include skits for Conan (TBS) & Jimmy Kimmel(ABC), Soup To Nuts, Jim Beam Whiskey, Anime Conan and Andy andmany more. She has done the Japanese voice-over for a large list ofAmerican movies as well, such as My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 andWhiplash.She is appreciative to David Hunt Stafford and all the board members forkeeping this amazing Theatre Company going. WHO’S WHODAVID HUNT STAFFORD (Oscar) is a graduate of Cal. Arts the-atre school in Valencia, California. Currently he is the Artis-tic/Managing Director of Theatre 40 and has performed inover 67 plays here including Kin, The Circle, Black Coffee,The Little Foxes, The Norman Conquests, Japanese DeathPoem, Quartermaine's Terms, Heartbreak House, A Lie ofthe Mind, Arms and the Man, Our Town, and Morning's AtSeven. Other performance credits include The BrowningVersion, On Borrowed Time, Confusions, Orphans of the

Storm, Ed Simpson's The Battle of Shallowford, Prin, Translations, Rosen-crantz and Guildenstern are Dead, The Misanthrope, Tanglin' Hearts andhis one-man show The Lights of My Life. His television and film credits arenumerous but include M*A*S*H, Lou Grant, The Jayne Mansfield Story,Possums, and Orson Welles' The Other Side of the Wind among others.

BRANDEE STEGER (Detective Pauline) is an executive pro-ducer, writer and director of the popular Emmy consideredweb series Not So Union www.notSounion.com. Film cred-its include: Dirty Laundry (Thomas Jane, Ron Perlman),School Dance (nick Cannon), The Wrights (Michael Ste-ger, Ted Danson). She worked on the Emmy consideredBET series Send Me (Tracie Thoms) and with Tony nomi-nated director Wilson Milam in the London reading of theoriginal play, The Correspondent. Steger was directed by

her husband, actor Michael Steger, in her favored autobiographical onewoman show Brandee Built on Crazee (Stella Adler Theatre). Brandee isa lifetime member of the Actors Studio.

HOWARD STORM (Director): Howard is an entertainment icon,who began his stage career at the tender age of nine yearsold working at a hotel in the Catskills, where his Vaudevil-lian father served as Social Director. Howard was thestraight man. His father would hold Howard’s sleeve whiletelling a joke and when the laugh subsided he would let go,then Howard would do the next set-up. That’s how helearned comedy timing. From there, Howard went on to be-

come an actor, writer, stand-up comedian and director.As a comedian, Howard was eventually called to star on some of Amer-ica’s greatest TV shows, including The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson,Steve Allen and Merv Griffin. He was snatched from the comedy club cir-cuit to direct Valerie Harper in her TV series, Rhoda, as his first TV direc-torial assignment and went on to become one of television’s reigningdirectors of comedy for such popular long-running sitcoms as Laverne &Shirley, Mork & Mindy, Taxi, Major Dad, Alf, Gimme A Break and Every-body Loves Raymond to name a few. The roster of stars he’s directed lists:Frank Sinatra, Robin Williams, Don Rickles, Richard Lewis, Bea Arthur,

Howard also directed Once Bitten, Jim Carrey’sfeature film debut and assisted Woody Allen in Allen’s early directorial ef-forts: Take The Money and Run, and Bananas. He also appeared in Broad-way Danny Rose as one of the comedians at the table. Later in Hollywood,Storm’s impeccable comedy credentials earned him a spot with The Com-mittee, a group which specialized in improvisational performance. He alsowrote TV scripts for such well-known shows as All In The Family, The Par-tridge Family and the original Bob Newhart Show.With regard to stage, Howard’s directorial credits include Requiem For AHeavyweight at Theatre West, as well as the very successful comedy, TheLove List at Theatre 40. Also at Theatre 40 he starred as Ralph in TheLast Romance and co-wrote Jimmy and Sam along with Pat Harringtonand the late Michael Rhodes, in which he starred as Sam to much criticalacclaim.We, at Theatre 40, are so pleased to have Howard Storm working with usagain and look forward for more to come in the future! Howard sends hislove to his wife, Patricia, and many thanks to Dick Cavett and Theatre 40.SAMUEL WARREN JOSEPH (Playwright): Sam’s credits include the movie OffYour Rocker, a comedy-drama about a revolution in an old folks’ home star-ring Milton Berle, Red Buttons and Dorothy Malone. He has written ani-mation episodes for such shows as Duck Tales, Dennis The Menace andBatman. Sam’s stage play, Window Of Opportunity, a suspenseful darkcomedy about corporate corruption, premiered at the Met Theatre in LosAngeles in the spring of 2006 to rave reviews. It has been turned into a fea-ture film, which he wrote and directed and was released in 2015. The filmwas produced and co-scored by John Densmore, the drummer of TheDoors. Sam wrote the book and co-wrote the songs for the stage musical,Campaign, which had its premiere in October, 2010, also to excellent re-views. His couple’s comedy, Two Times Two, also had its world premierein 2010 in new Orleans to great reviews. His musical, Psychosexual: ALove Story, for which he wrote the book and lyrics, premiered earlier thisyear at the Met Theatre and was a hit at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.Sam has also been a special education teacher in inner city Los Angelesand currently is a community college Adjunct Assistant Professor of Eng-lish.DON SOLOSAN (Stage Manager): Don made his debut as stage manager onTheatre 40’s production of “The Last Romance,” and most recently just fin-ished up the Breath of Spring. In his free time, he creates promotionalvideos for the Los Angeles Historic Theatre Foundation exploring LA’s clas-sic movie palaces, which can be seen at www.youtube.com/lahtf. JOSEPH "SLOE" SLAWINSKI (Sound Designer): Sloe has designed over 200plays. He was the sound designer for the exciting production The Ugly Onefor Gates McFadden. His other recent designs include Gidion’s Knot for theFurious Theatre Company directed by Darin Anthony and Gabrieal Griego,Rx directed by John Pleshette, Flowers For Algernon for Deaf West, DownIn Front directed by Gabrieal Griego, and Land Line directed by Bill Charl-ton. He is the sound designer for The American Academy of Dramatic Arts.He would like to thank the incredible and amazing Gabrieal Griego for hercontinuous support during all of his creative endeavors.
