We’re seeking:Outstanding leaders to manage our chapters (2-3 people in each of 20 locations) for the class of 2013 (which runs from Sept 2012-Mar 2013)

Our Program Leaders have led chapters and projects because they love meeting our Fellows, bouncing great ideas off one another, and sharing entrepreneurial creativity. You won’t be able to stay away if you want to be an entrepreneur or VC one day.

2. Hone your leadership skills

SLP has incredible Fellows. When you are leading a chapter as a Program Leader or Joint Program Leader, you are working with 25 outstanding Fellows and meeting 50-100 mentors. You will grow as a leader, learn a ton about yourself, and get a ringside seat to the startup process.

3. Gain operating experience

If your background is technology or science heavy, SLP will give you hands-on exposure to managing people, setting up events, marketing, troubleshooting, and organizing. It will teach you to execute flawlessly.

4. Participate in educating entrepreneurs

Architect original classes and curriculum with some of the best and brightest minds in the startup world. Our Program will empower you to lead classes, design workshops, and recruit other high-impact team members. You get a chance to craft the experiences for 25 people.

5. Build your local Rolodex; get known

SLP is an excellent calling card, and you can use it to connect with almost anyone in your city. Established VCs, entrepreneurs and experts love to cultivate and mentor talented young CEOs. Use the SLP brand to build powerful personal and professional connections. Being a familiar face is helpful for your startup. You will also be connected to all Program Leaders around the world.

6. Finally, a great b-school story(if you want one)

Thinking about b-school? SLP will give you a great story to tell when you apply, and when you get there, you will start out ahead of your peers. This is demonstrated in our Fellows. Our Fellows have joined Chicago, Cornell, Harvard, Kellogg, Sloan & Wharton after leading SLP.

What we ask of you

1. SLP should be your main extracurricular activity for the next six months.

2. People, startups, and jobs depend on you. So we are not looking for full-time entrepreneurs (though we do have a few and they have done a fantastic job doing both !) or those who travel much.

3. It takes 10 hours per week to run an existing chapter and 20 hours in the year that you start a new chapter.

4. You will receive support from every single Fellow, but you will be in-charge along with 2-3 other people that you can choose.

Ideal Candidates

1. Outstanding leaders who have built communities and execute well. 2. Aspiring startup CEOs or young VCs who are supported by their own organizations in

this role3. Should have the bandwidth and motivation to stay involved and contribute significant

value4. Someone who has been a Fellow, led a volunteer or not-for-profit organization or club

would be preferred5. Someone who believes in the mission of SLP.

Saurabh Sachan (DEL), Ran Aquaskills, an education-focussed startup

Shameek Chakravarthy (HYD), Started Ohana Media (BE, BITS Pilani, MBA ISB & Amazon)

Sudip Dutta (BLR), Started Apurv during SLP, now an award-winning startup (BE, BITS Pilani & Founder, BITSAid, Founder, Apurv

Kanchan Koya (NY), Founded SwitchBiotics at the same time as started SLP NY, was named one of 25 women to watch in New York by leading tech journal (Harvard Medical School PhD, Founder, Switch Biotics, President, Harvard Biotech Club)

Rebecca Breitenkamp (San Diego, SV), Was a consultant to startups during SLP; started two chapters; after SLP became President of a cleantech company (UMass PhD, Co-Founder & CFO, Intezyme (Silicon Valley & San Diego)

Michael Mullins (BOS): Runs a Real Estate development company, founded a startup before SLP; pulled the plug on joining SLP; Entered Chicago Booth MBA and started Lean Startup Challenge with 2 SLP Fellows.

Parul Singh (BOS): Worked at venture backed media startup, VisibleMeasures during SLP; Joined Sloan MBA & became President, Sloan PEVC Club, Started Lean Startup Challenge with 2 SLP Fellows after SLP. Interning as a VC and starting a company (Harvard Computer Science, New York Times)

Shobhit Chugh (BOS): Joined Kellogg after SLP and started a company in his first year that became the #1 startup at DreamIT (IIT, McKinsey, Manhattan Associates, Founder, Adapt.ly)

Tamara Nazzal (BOS), Worked at CIMIT during SLP; Joined Cornell MBA after SLP; Now at Philips Marketing.

Vikas Goyal (BOS), Was a consultant during SLP, Joined Wharton MBA & became President, Wharton Healthcare Club after SLP, Currently a VC at SROne (Harvard Neuroscience, McKinsey)
