THE RECORD REH
OBOTH
REHOBOTH BAPTIST ASSOCIATION
Volume XXXVIII February, 2015 Number 1
The story is told in one of Dr. David Jeremiah’s books about Queen Victoria once
receiving the spectacular Kohinoor diamond as a gift from a Maharajah, when the
Maharajah was only a boy. Later, when the boy had grown up to become a man,
the Maharajah went to visit Queen Victoria again. While he was there, he asked for
the stone. Taking the stone, he kneeled before the Queen and presented it to her one more time.
This time he said, “Your Majesty, I gave you this jewel when I was but a child, too young to know what
I was doing. Today, I give it to you again, as a grown man, in the fullness of my strength, with all my
heart, now and forever, fully realizing all that I do.”
Dr. Jeremiah went on to point out that this is the experience for many of us. Many of us as children
gave our hearts to Jesus Christ and received Him as our Lord and Savior. But now, much older and
more mature, we can again say to the Lord, “Lord, I give my heart and life to you all over again, grate-
ful for the opportunity, and fully realizing all that I do.”
No, a person doesn’t get “saved” all over again, but perhaps this is a good picture of REVIVAL and
RENEWAL and REDEDICATION! Life has moved on, things have changed, time has passed, and it
may now be time again just to kneel before “His Majesty” and say again, “I am yours, wholeheartedly,
forever and ever, and day by day!” What a privilege, what an opportunity!
That’s what FRESH ENCOUNTER will be about this month! We “prepare our hearts” to seek the Lord
by prayer, preaching, worship, fasting, and reading God’s Word. Then when February 22-24 arrives,
we have a special opportunity to SEEK the LORD and submit to Him anew and afresh “all over again”!
I’m looking forward to it, and I sure hope you are too!!! We all need these special times!
P.S. Dr. David Dykes recently felt a pressure in his chest while doing his regular exercise. After calling
his cardiologist, Bro. David underwent a procedure to insert 3 stents into his heart for blockages. Pray
for him during these days!
God bless You ALL for a FRESH ENCOUNTER!
