' On Adgust 3 will be given an ora- torio, in al probability Mendels- sohn's "Elijah.” Tho demand for oratorio iias been so great that it Is not to be denied. There will bo three concerts by the children next season. The first of these, tlio Children’s Musical Festi- val, is announced for August 7, the second oh-August 17, and ihe third, the annual Fairyland Festival, on August 20. It is Intended also to give a musical jubilee ou August 23. The United States Marino Band ■has been secured for two concerts, afternoon and evening, on August 12. It is expected also that Sousa’s.band will play here. Camp meeting will begin on Fri- day evening; August 23. Next summer the “Storm” will bo made a greater feature than hereto- fore. Performances of this wonder- f!:) organ composition will begin on July 1, continuing until the end of September. The entertainments through July ■will consist largely of popuia- con- certs and moving pictures, the bigger features of tbe program heiDg reserv- ed for August, at which time tno crowds in, the Grove are greatest. SCENARIO TO CLOSE. Filial Entertainment of Season Tills Saturday Evening. The- last motios pictures of the season in Ocean Grove will be exhib- ited in the Scenario on tho lake front at the north end this (Saturday) veiling. An excellent program, one of the very best of the year, has bean prepared for this final entertainment, ' It is. a pleasure to learn the Scen- ario will be under the same manage- ment indefinitely, as Mr. Ansbach has a lease from the Association for a term of years, The first season has been a great success, artistically and financially. Inter-, church Federation of Trenton, ..whose members appealed, to. Governor, Wil- son to use his influence to. have the pictures cut out of the fair/program. Governor Wilson; telephoned to Sec- retary Margerum the first of . the week. PAUi/S Moiunoutli Trust Company’Creditors to Get Last Payment, On Tuesday afternoon of this week, by sighing-an order allowing and confirming the accounts of'Receiver John P.. fanning, Chancellor Pitney added another chapter to the' long litigation following the failure of tbe Monmouth Trust and Safe. Deposit Company, which carried with, it the First National Bank, of Asbury Park. The chancellor fixed December 26 as the date when creditors 'and stock* holders will be required to show cause why the receivership should not be. terminated and Mr. Lanning discharged. The'final account submitted to the court showed total .receipts of $391.,- 832.80, and disbursements,of $345,- 756.20', leaving a balance on hand ot ?45;835:D1;" ‘ The receiver’*has paid. fifty-two and one-half per cent, of tiie claims proved against the com- pany. . Chancellor Pitney directed the payment of a further dividend of twelve and three-quarters per cent, to every creditor. A man representing himself to be the agent of a western cereal concern has been soliciting around, Matawan for coupons of a certain breakfast food, promising firelesB cookers in return therefor.. One of the disap- pointed victims of the fellow, after waiting a reasonable time for.the ar- rival of the cooker, wrote making in- quiry about it.-She was told that if the receipt she had was on one of the company’s regular receipt forms the cooker .would be sent at once. The company further said that the man had been appointed a fireleBs cooker solicitor, but that he had failed to return the orders, coupons or cash. At Holmdel the other day Howard Brown, accused of deserting his wife, and two children on March 1 last, was arrested by Detective Captain Walling. It was ascertained that Brown was working in a blacksmith; shop at Holmdel, and when the de- tective arrived there in an automobile he was taken by surprise. The com- plainant is William H. Martin, fath- er of Mrs. Brown. After being lock- ed up Brown repented and promises to be good. He was released on the promise;to go back to his wife.. Holiness Meeting Continued. Park. The speech of presentation was made by the Rev. Dr. T. J. Scott, also of the Grove. August Popkin Injured. • Returnihg.from an ocean fishing trip Thursday morning, and while in the act of beaching the boat, August Popkin, of 77 Heck avenue, was painfully injured. A breaker caught, the boat, swerving it around until it struck Mr. Popkin in the side. Al- though no bones were broken, the in- jury. necessitated medical attention. Banner Presented to League. Harry Hendrickson has presented a silken banner, to the Epworth League of St. Paul's church. Mrr Hendrickson is the president of the league. The banner bears the lague’s name and insignia in white and gold, and altogether is a hand- some piece of work. Has a Position in the South. L; Harry Woolman, of this- place, will leave here shortly for Daytona, Fla., where he has secured a position for the winter in a large meat and provision market. During the past summer Mr. Woolman successfully operated a fruit and vegetable route iu the Grove. Hot Baths Will Bo Closed. Tho hot baths at the north end will be closed this (Saturday) evening.
