Where is this volcano located?

Well, Mt. Kilimanjaro is located in Tanzania, a smaller sized country in Eastern Africa. Mt. Kilimanjaro is placed in the upper right corner of Tanzania, right by the Nile River.

What’s going on here?

Well, activity is going on here because Mt. Kilimanjaro is an active volcano.

The Elevation and More!

This volcano is a soaring 18,866 feet in the air. It puffs right out of the clouds in the sky and almost always looks like it has snow on the peak, but it’s really just the clouds.

What type of volcano is it? Well, that’s easy. Mt. Kilimanjaro is a cinder cone volcano because it has a cut off peak, and the sides of the volcano are at a slant that make the sides steeper.

What is the long and lat?

The longitude and latitude of the volcano is;Longitude: 37.350665 Latitude: -3.066464

Mount Kilimanjaro rests in Moshi, a town in Northern Tanzania and in the Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. The closest city is about 80 miles away, and is called Arusha.

Industry’s and artwork! Tanzania’s main industry is soap and diamonds, which is a strange combination.

An Earthquake?

An earthquake in Tanzania? Who ever heard of such a thing? Well, I’m Seismologist Nellie Marie and I have the results of an earthquake in Tanzania. With a magnitude of 5.9, this earthquake took place in Arusha, Tanzania. Close to Mt. Kilimanjaro, this earthquake was 8 kilometers below the earth and did a good amount of destruction to the city and national park.
