“Training needs assessment of rice growers in rice zone of the Punjab, Pakistan”,

“Assessment of phytoremediation potential of marigold (Tagetes patula L.) for chromium

contaminated soil”, “Eco-friendly removal of disperse dyes from polyester”, “Molecular

study for the identification, characterization and management of lepidopterous insect

pests of cotton in Punjab, Pakistan”, “Crop phenology based sustainable management

of whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) on Bt and non-Bt cotton in Punjab, Pakistan”,

respectively. After issuance of the notifications, the UAF PhD club swells up to 2076.

STANDING HR COMMITTEE

The Syndicate at its meeting held on 23-08-2021 approved the following Standing HR

Committee for selection of staff (BS-17 & above where equivalent grades are given in

the project) under the development/R&D projects:- (i) Consultant/Director-HR, UAF

(Convener) (ii) Representative of Sponsoring Agency (Member) (iii) Director-P&D, UAF

(Member). The above Committee

will submit its recommendations

to the Vice Chancellor for final

approval. However, proceedings

of the Standing HR Committee

may be submitted to the

Syndicate for information. The

hiring against other project posts

having equivalent grades BS-1 to

BS-16, will be done as per

prevailing practice in the

University. A separate committee

for scrutiny of applications

against the project posts will also

be constituted by the Vice

Chancellor. The Vice Chancellor

may grant extension to project

staff (i.e. Project Directors,

Project Coordinators etc.) as and when required.

LABORATORY SCHOOLS & COLLEGES

RESULTS

Laboratory Schools & Colleges (Main & PARS

CAMPUSES) is a mutual venture to facilitate

hundreds of Boys and Girls in terms of attaining the

best Academics and Career Counseling

opportunities under the kind umbrella of the

University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. We are highly

delighted to share with the Community the best

results of our shining students in all Campuses in

BISE Faisalabad. We have hit the town with 100%

outcomes. 3 of our brilliant students of Matriculation

secured 1100/1100 marks. Round 150 out of 330

appeared strength in the Board obtained 1000+

marks. In College Sections the performance of the

candidates was outstanding. The highest scorer in

Intermediate Part-I thumped the graph with 509

marks and in Intermediate Part-II with 1082 marks.

Heartiest congratulations! and a big well done to all

the Faculty and Students for their phenomenal

success. We wish and encourage the same feature

of Success ahead! (Laboratory Schools & College

SITUATION VACANT

Applications are invited for 1 post of DPL as per

government rules/as per university policy maximum up to 20,000/- per month in the

Tree Fund, USA funded project entitled “Contributing for a breathable future:

Characterizing the efficiency of local species for controlling particulate matter in

Faisalabad district”. The appointment will be on DPL basis. Applications on plain paper

along with one most recent attested photograph and attested copies of academic

certificates, degrees, testimonials, detailed mark certificates and experience certificates

with specific (if any) dates should reach in the office of Dr. Fahad Rasheed, Assistant

Professor, Department of Forestry and Range Management, UAF during office hours

within 5 days after the publication of this notice. Applications either incomplete or

received after due date will not be entertained. The University reserves the right not to

fill vacancy without assigning any reason.

PhD THESIS/SYNOPSIS DEFENCE

Mr. Muhammad Zeeshan Nadeem, Regd. No. 2003-ag-1586, a PhD student, Department

of Agronomy, has successfully defended his PhD thesis on 28-10-2021. The title of his

thesis is “Influence of seed priming techniques on fodder yield and quality of pearl millet

(Pennisetum americanum L.) harvested at different intervals”.
