Bring your families out for Fall Fest & Trunk-or-Treat at Washington Street! At Washington Street we want to be about families and helping families walk in the way of Jesus. There are some great family activities planned this month for just that reason. On Wednesday night, October 25 th , from 6- 8pm we are again hosting a family “Trunk-or-Treat” night in our parking lot. Dinner and “trunk-or-treating” begins at 6pm with a special Teen & Children’s Bible class & worship to follow at 7pm. All of our young peo- ple and their parents are invited to come out, dress in your favorite (& friendly) costume, enjoy a night of “trunk-or-treating” together, stay for dinner and Bible classes. We are in need of volunteers to serve as host by decorating their trunks and handing out candy. You can also help by donating candy! Please see Terry Smith to volunteer or to drop off your donations of candy at the building. Thank you! Please note that the annual Fall Fest has been moved to Sunday evening, October 29 th . The Kilpat- rick farm will once again be the location and we are so grateful to their entire family for serving as wonderful hosts. There will be food, fun and great fellowship out under the stars for all ages. A hay ride and other activities will be available for young & old alike. A great time is basically guaranteed! See Keith Kilpatrick to volunteer to bring food or for more information. Activities will begin at 6pm following our evening worship services at the building. Thanksgiving Service Sunday night, November 19 with bro. Cederick Davis Every time we turn on our television sets we hear more news about division, strife and conflict in our world. Sadly, that is even the case in the church more often than we would like to admit. To be a part of the solution rather than the problem, Washington Street is inviting area churches together on Sunday night, November 19 th to hear bro. Cederick Davis of the Mayberry Street congregation and to worship together. My goal is for us to begin a conversation as to how the church can be a positive and redeeming influence in our own community for the sake of Christ as well as for the sake of our community and how a more diverse community of believers can be a strong testament to the power of the gospel! It is a burden to my soul that there is so much racial division in our country, but it bur- dens me even more when we see it in the church! We have long held this annual service of our traditionally African-American and our traditionally white congrega- tions coming together for worship and it has been such a blessing to us all! We want to increase the power of this unity by encouraging all the churches of Christ to rejoice together in our common Sav- ior, our common LORD and our common heritage as brothers and sisters in Christ. I would like to thank everyone that took the time to bake cakes, pies and cookies for Brett Buchanan Benefit. Everything was greatly appreciated and the results could not have been accomplished without all your help. It was a great turnout for a great family. The money earned will benefit them in so many ways. I thank you and the Buchanan Family thanks you. Please keep Brett and his family in your pray-ers. #Bucksarmy Tim and Christy Weir

Youth News

Hey everybody! No coffee house tonight. It will resume next week. There will be Girl’s De-vo this week at 7 at Anna Catherine’s house and Boy’s Devo at 7 at our house. This is a great time to develop relationships and ask questions about God or the Church.

There will be a SAC this coming Sunday Night. Stay tuned for some hints on the text mes-sage system. We have the Men’s retreat is this coming, October 20th-21st. It will be a great time to spend intergenerational time with our church as a whole. We hope that you will take advantage of this op-portunity. We will be playing golf, playing games, and hanging out. It will be a great time. ATTENTION DATE CHANGE! We have scheduled the Fall Fest out at the Kilpatrick’s this year for October 29th, so get excited for another fun time celebrating all things Fall this year! We will have regular groups at the building at 5 pm and then we will be at the Kilpatricks from 6-10 pm. If you would like to help with food, please contact Keith Kilpatrick. The Rake N’ Run is fast approaching. We are currently looking for OWLs yards to rake or help in any way we can to prep for winterization. This event will be on Saturday, November the 15th from about 7 am-3 pm. If you would like help with your yard, please contact the church office about your needs.
