FRONT PAGE• The Vogue masthead is always very big and stands out at the top of the page. Like most other

high end fashion magazines, the typeface is sans serif as I think it makes the magazine look very chic and simple and relates more to high end fashion.

• The typography on the front page and on pretty much every page is sans serif because, as mentioned before, it looks very chic and simple.

• There is very limited writing on the front page and this adds to the simplicity of the magazine.• The image on the front page always stands out, it is usually a close up of a celebrities face

and is always very large and catches attention.• I have also noticed that the colour theme on the front page relates to the season, so brighter

colours for summer and more browns and reds and blues for autumn etc.• One thing that vogue has a lot of is space. Not necessarily empty space but there are a lot of

pages with just a simple photo on it and nothing else.

CONTENT• There is one main type face in this magazine and it is just a regular serif font which is very

simple however I have identified some use of bold typefaces and italic typefaces but the font is almost always the same.

• There is a large range of font sizes, from very small text to large titles and medium sized subtitles.

• There is usually quite a limited range of colours, mainly quite basic colours to add to the theme of the magazine which is simple and classy although there are reds and yellows used too.

• This magazine mainly consists of photos with very limited writing. Although there are a few pages of pure articles, the majority of the pages are fashion outfits and celebrities and designer advertisements like Chanel or Gucci.

• Other than photos of models and celebrities and fashion advertisements, there are articles on relatable celebrities and/or important people in the fashion industry.

• On average the vogue magazines have approximately 250 pages The January issues are usually the smallest and the September issues the largest which are usually up to 500 pages.

TARGET AUDIENCE• Vogue’s target audience is females in their late twenties to thirties. Vogue is very successful in

attracting its audience, resulting in continual high readership and as a result, does not widely try to appeal to other audiences, such as men.

• Although it does not widely appeal to men, there is also a men's vogue and even a teen vogue and that way they reach a large range of audiences without having to change anything within the original vogue issues.

• “The median reader's age is 37.9, while the gender split of the readership is 87% female and 13% male” – Wikipedia
