History:-
First LOGO Of Vodafone
Evolution of ‘Vodafone’ was started in 1982 with the establishment of ‘Racal Strategic Radio Ltd’. On 1st jan 1985, first call was made by Vodafone from London to Newbury Headquarters.
Demerged with ‘Racal Electronics’.
After demergence of Racal Telecom from Racal Electronics, ‘ Vodafone ’ came to existence.
Overtook ‘Peoples Phone’.

Vodafone In India In the year 2007, Vodafone entered
Indian market as it acquired 67% stake of ‘Hutchison Essar’ for $10.7 billion, and Hutch was renamed to ‘Vodafone’.
In the year 2011, Vodafone buys out its partner essar from its Indian mobile phone business. It paid $5.46 billion to take essar out of its 33% stake in the Indian subsidiary.

Chairman:-Gerard Kleisterlee became the chairman of Vodafone group on 26 July 2011. He served as a CEO and president of board of management of Phillips electronics for 30 years.
Chief Executive Officer(CEO)Vittorio Colao was appointed as CEO of Vodafone Group after the AGM on 29 July 2008. In 2004 he left Vodafone and rejoined in 2008.
Chief Financial Officer(CFO)Nick Read was appointed as chief financial officer and member of Vodafone Group Plc on 1st April 2014. He is charted management accountant with B.A (Hons) in finance and accounting.
Chairman Of Vodafone India Analjit Singh is appointed as chairman of Vodafone in India. He is founder and chairman of Maxx Ind. Ltd. He has been recently awarded one of India’s highest civilian honors

• Vodafone gave birth to special characters named ‘Zoo Zoos’ to convey their ‘Value Added Services(VAS)’ in each commercial. These are white creature with ballooned bodies and Egg shaped head.
