VK:a architecture was founded in 1973 by Ar. Vishwas Kulkarni after passing out from Sir JJ College of Architecture, Mumbai and working with Ar. Charles Correa. He started the practice with 2 employees and today VK has a strength of 110 qualified Architects, Urban Designers, Planners, Landscape Architects, Environmentalists, Engineers, Valuers, Business managers etc and a list of over 50 repetitive clients. On 21 July 2013 we completed 40 years of successful practice !

In these 40 years we have completed numerous projects and our experience is rich and varied. We have won numerous prestigious awards for our excellent designs.

The success journey of VK continues, and we believe in the following driving principles.

We understand our clients requirements and expectations thoroughly, thereby fulfilling their ambitions with imaginative designs. We aim to complete projects on time and within budget using appropriate methods of construction.

Responding to Green call the prime need of the time VK: e environmental was formed in 2008 and for fulfilling clients requirements completely VK: i interiors was started in 2010. This makes VK a complete design solution provider.

The legacy of VK:a runs back to four long decades of hard work, integrity and a strong value system. Founded by Ar. Vishwas Kulkarni, VK:a has taken steady and confident strides and is geared up for further challenges and accomplishments in the coming years. Golden SparrowArea: >3,500 Sq.MPrabhat Road, Pune

Golden Sparrow makes a statement for itself. Its out of the box elevation resembles boxes stacked over each other but are not in a line. The scheme will raise eyebrows and redefine elite living.

This kind of an elevation has been achieved by paneling and boxing with use of unconventional materials.. Its needless to say that is an unique design for creative people..

The site is one of the most sought after high profile cosmopolitan destinations for residences in Pune. The challenge for us was to convert a site with three high-rise structures into a campus encouraging a purposeful interaction between people and the immediate environment.

Each floor of the building holds three units arranged in such manner that each apartment is open from all four sides and each room gets cross ventilation in addition to a more than 180 degree view.

It is a luxurious scheme with its frontage on huge green area of adjoining Agricultural College campus.

All the apartments enjoy the view of thick foliage.

Vision One is an upcoming Shopping Center in newly developed area of Tathavade. The complex incorporates contemporary artistic features such as use of second skin and shadowing as the spotlight elements of the structure.

Again, its concept is also based on Indian street shopping, so OPEN MALL is the theme. All the levels are visible from entrance and the roof is specially designed to reflect openness. It is going to be one of the liveliest places in the city to gather or hang out at.

This is a state of the art Shopping Center coming up in newly developed area of Pimple Saudagar.Its concept is based on Indian street shopping. Hence the theme of OPEN MALL

The plot where its privacy & segregation from the Commercial Area is created by the Residential Tower providing a safe haven for kids & the elderly alike, away from the vehicular movement. It will redefine the skyline of this new happening area.

Sahara StadiumArea: >33 AcreGahunje, Pune

Buro Happold Engg pvt Ltd the reputed international designers were architects for this prestigious stadium near Pune. They wanted an reputed local Architectural firm who could do all the working drawings and details and do site co-ordination.

They came to VK:a and handed over this huge work which we successfully completed under guidance of BHEPL. We even appointed permanent site co-ordinators and architects for this project. The dead line for IPL was met and we got free passes to witness the action.

Bhide HospitalLB Shastri Road, Pune

Design of Healthcare needs to be sensitively approached with due attention to safety, accessibility and economy. Design provisions for differently able as well as aged people are priority factor.Also, whole anthropometric design is created suit all users.

Each section of the building is dealt with as a separate unit and their co-relation is achieved through simple circulation. Rather than a regular practitioner, this is the job of a specialist and we have collaborated with such specialists for this sector.

The temple is beautifully built in a small space. The deity is placed on a raised platform so to to be visible from road. An chandelier is suspended from an beautiful dome inside. There is enough sitting space inside.

Temple also has an basement used as store. Carvings on Kalasa have been designed by calling Rajasthani artisians. The design is based on Vastu principles. Overall the temple looks beautiful and simple. Its aimed to make a balance between deity and temple design obviously giving more importance to the central deity.

Moledina HallPune Station

The project was undertaken for sorting out the complex, congested and haphazard traffic movements including pedestrian and local transport mediums. By raising the middle portion of the road, the subway at the said location was planned for easy movement of people by providing an arrangement of ramps.

In all three directions with minimum number of steps with due consideration for physically challenged / older people. Within the terminal, a space for 29 buses is planned, while including the space for about 400 four- wheelers and remaining space for two-wheelers, it will be a parking space for about 1200 vehicles.

Hujurpaga Girls CollegeBajirao Road, Pune

Hujurpaga is an old and highly reputed girls school in Pune which intended to build an junior college for girls in its existing campus. The challenge was to create an big spacious space in small congested site without disturbing the old structures. The idea was to integrate the building as a whole by providing the parking at basement.

All floors from second to fifth are connected with each other through courtyards and cut-outs at various levels.There is an existing entry to school building thus dividing the building in two wings at ground and first level forming a double height entry. The building has now become the new identity of the old school.

MKSS Ambegaon CampusAmbegaon, Pune

The brief was to create an New Vision School that will be landmark campus drawing national and international pride on an vast undulating slope at Ambegaon, Pune. An residential school and junior college was designed with all developmental infrastructure like sports complex, play grounds, interactive spaces, auditoriums etc that will make students love the campus.

Areas like the amphitheater were inserted in the existing topography with great ease. A blend of traditional and modern spaces was designed and care was taken to use environmentally responsive technologies and materials to reduce energy costs of future.

Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering & TechnologyNanded

We won the work of designing hostel for 900 boys and Auditorium building for Sri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering & Technology through competitive bidding. Nanded being an hot and dry space we encouraged use of evaporative cooling, shadow effect and cross ventilation in our hostel design.

The Auditorium has sitting of 800 students and balcony is designed in such a way that it can be closed to form a small auditorium for smaller events. The structure is in structural steel and infill walls. the slab is pre stressed and building has a momentous look.

Marathwada Auto Cluster - “Center of Excellence”MIDC Waluj, Aurangabad

This building is an common learning and exhibition center for industrialists in Aurangabad. It has two huge exhibition halls which can also be used for playing badminton in leisure time. It has an 250 capacity multipurpose hall, cafeteria, training and research centers, class rooms, library, electronic and computer labs.

The special feature of this structure is it has been designed as climate responsive taking into consideration wind flow and sun path. In this assignment our all wings VK:a,VK:e & VK:i are working together in architectural, environmental and interiors respectively.
