• The purpose of the visit is: to foster and increase bilateral economic relations by promoting Finnish business offerings at both governmental and business levels

• The focus of the program will be on Cleantech, especially on:

1. Sustainable Mining

2. Bioenergy and Energy Efficiency (mainly for food and beer industries)

3. General Promotion of all Cleantech Solutions from Finland (to key stakeholders, public authorities, industry confederations, private companies, key financiers of investments of capital goods and applied R&D, media visibility)

Program: Group 1 Sustainable Mining – Monday, March 31, meeting with BNDES and FINEP, in Rio, to introduce Finnish Cleantech solutions for

key decision makers of investment financing (BNDES) and R&D financing (FINEP). Also Brazilian potential

clients and RD partners are invited. Cooperation agreement FINEP & Tekes is to be published and joint

RD projects are welcomed from companies of Brazil and Finland

– Tuesday, April 1st, Brasilia. Visit to Minister of Mines and Energy, Mr Edson Lobao, with Q&A session

with Finnish companies. Cleanday event with Confederation of Industries, CNI to promote Finnish

Cleantech solutions to Political authorities and selected industries trough CNI. National media coverage

promoted.

– Wednesday, April 2nd , Visit to VALE’s Vargem Grande mine to get familiar to typical Brazilian conditions

in open pit iron mine. The visit to mine program is most useful for companies not yet familiar with the

Brazilian market, other companies may want to continue in Brasilia to participate with an other

ministerial visit eventually also Edson Lobao will be confirmed for Wednesday.

– Thursday, April 3rd, in Belo Horizonte. Full day Technical seminar focusing in Finnish solutions to

improve Sustainability and Productivity in Mining, followed by business to business meetings with

interested Brazilian customers. IBRAM, Brazilian mining industry association is supporting the event,

Technical directors of Brazilian mining companies and their staff will be invited.

General information for participation in the visit to Brazil

– During the visit, business delegates will have an opportunity to attend various networking events and to meet local business leaders, organizations and authorities.

– Participation fee:

• Major Companies: EUR 2850 + 24% VAT per person

• Small businesses and SMEs: EUR 2300 + 24% VAT per person

– The participation fee includes arrangements in Brazil for March 31 – April 3, 2014

– The participation fee does not include flights or accommodation of the participant nor meals outside the business delegation program.

– Registration no later than February 7, 2014. The registration is binding.
