• Founded in 1973

• Started off with 6 cases assigned by Judge John Collins (AZ)

TARGET POPULATION

At Risk Youth between the ages 10-21 yrs old5,663 youth arrested in 201 0 in Delaware (Puzzanchera, 2013)374/5663 were arrested for a violent crime (CJC, 2011)42-56% of youth offender released juvenile facilities served time on a felonyOver 3,000 youth are involved with YRS (CJC, 2011)

SERVICES Accountability- curfew checks, crew calls, crisis intervention, in-home intervention

ART-cognitive behavioral intervention program

FFT- family based therapy ( for youth suffering from mental health issues, which may lead delinquency)

Girl Self Esteem- focus on trauma/drama, healthy relationship sexuality and mind-body connection

Guided Recreation- Activities are created to replace negative group recreation

SERVICESPLL- provided for youth in residential placement to facilitate re-entry back to home and community

Street Smart- prevention groups (focus on sexual transmitted diseases , teen pregnancy, gang awareness)

Sanctuary youth group and individual sessions- helping youth recover from the effects of trauma and chronic stress

Pre Trial Youth- provides similar services as accountability prior to trial
