Vision North TexasVNT is a private-public-academic partnership with three objectives:• Increase awareness about
expected growth,• Serve as a forum for discussion
among all stakeholders about critical issues, and
• Build support for initiatives that might create a successful and sustainable future for North Texas.
People from all over North Texas have participated in VNT events and studies.

• The region’s population will grow to 9.5 million.
• One third of the region’s households will live outside current urban areas in lower-density communities.
• 900,000 acres of agricultural land will be in other uses.
• The amount of impervious surface will double.
• We will have spent almost $98 billion on transportation improvements, but traffic congestion will still increase.
By 2050 …. • The region’s population will be almost 12
million.• Existing water supplies and electricity
production capacities can’t meet demands.
