How to Use the Hilltown Seed Saving Network’s

Virtual Seed Bank

Go to the website - hilltownseeds.wordpress.com Click on Virtual Seed Bank

Register or if you’veregistered already, log in.

Seed Bank Page The main page (“Seed Bank” in the menu) lets you Add a New Seed, Browse All Seeds or search for a particular type of seed. SEARCH Any key word is fine - vegetable, herb, carrot, beet, Danvers, etc. If the search yields no results, you can try a different spelling or plural instead of singular, like “beets” instead of “beet”.

Anything matching your search will show the listing for that seed. If nothing matches your search, don’t give up, you can also select “Browse all seeds” and look at the entire list.

To contact the person who listed the seed, click on their name and their contact information will appear.

Seed Bank Page ADD A NEW SEED From the “Seed Bank” page, click on “Add a new seed” and fill out the form.

If you’re planning to bringsome to the next upcoming event, make sure to click the checkbox for that event. If you change your mind later, you can edit the listingby finding it on the My Seedspage and Editing it.

Once the new seed is submitted, you’ll have a choice to list another or view all the seeds you’ve listed in the seed bank.

My Seeds Page Viewing the list of seeds you’ve submitted will also allow you to list more seeds.

My Seeds Page

If you need to correct a seed listing, change it’s

availability information or archive a no longer

available seed that you’ve listed, the

My Seeds listing allows you to Edit or Archive

each individual listing.

Any seeds that you’ve archived remain visible to you on the My Seeds Page. You also have the

option to Unarchive them if they become

available again. You can even Unarchive and

then Edit for the next year’s crop.

Members Page If you’ve met someone at one of the Seed Saver’s events and can’t remember their name or contact information, you can see the list of Virtual Seed Bank Members to see if they’re listed here.

Events Page - Any scheduled events will appear here! The Events Page lists upcoming events, and for seed swaps, will list whatever seeds members have registered that they plan to bring to the event. Event list.

Click on event title to see what seeds will be available at event.
