PzKpfw V Panther Ausführung A/D/G Tank - 385 points

In Service: 1943 (A/D); 1944 (G) Element: Heavy Support

The Panzer V or Panther medium tank was quickly developed to counter the Soviet T-34, and after a rather unsuccessful introduction to combat at Kursk eventually became the best German tank of World War II.

The Panther outranged almost every Allied medium tank of the war; it could penetrate their frontal armour from ranges at which its own armour could not be penetrated. The Panther's excellent combination of firepower, mobility, and protection served as a benchmark for other nations' future tank designs. In a way the Panther was the first modern MBT (main battle tank).
