Vibrant Music TeachingGroup Workshop Plan: Debussy Do Overview
Quick Look Lesson Plan
What You Need
TIME EST. ACTIVITY NOTES:
10 min Guess the prélude
25 min Clair de Lune Ensemble parts 1& 2
10 min History Hoarder
5 min JUICE BREAK
25 min Clair de Lune Ensemble parts 3 & 4
10 min Romantic Road
10 min Impressionist drawings
This lesson plan is designed to suit a group of 4-10 students at a variety of levels. (Please note that if you have more than 6 students you will need an extra copy of Beethoven’s Bucket Dunk.)
These activities will work best for students from 5 to 12 years old, although many older students will be happy to get involved too.
The time estimates given are very approximate and many activities may last longer than the listed times. This is a good thing! It’s much better to have too many activities than not enough. Feel free to skip over activities and extend others depending on how your students engage and/or whether they are getting restless.
This workshop is 90 minutes long. If you are doing a shorter workshop, feel free to cut out activi-ties as needed. The activities are all related and well-sequenced, but one does not necessarily have to lead to the next.
