The small, delicate veins of many companion pets pose venous blood collection challenges. Pre-evacuated tubes can easily collapse fragile veins, while a gentler collection with a syringe requires a transfer and can result in insufficient sample quality. The innovative S-Monovette® multi-sampling, closed blood collection system provides a choice of collection technique to accommodate varying vein conditions. Tubes are pre-dosed with a range of additives and are available in volumes from 1.1ml to 7.5ml.

S-Monovette® - adaptable for any vein

For fragile veins, S-Monovette® tubes can be filled like a syringe by gently pulling the piston to collect a sample. After collection the piston is removed; no transfer or additional components are required.

For the sturdy veins of larger animals, a fresh vacuum can be created in the S-Monovette® tubes immediately prior to venipuncture for a faster collection.

• Innovative design combines collection device with blood tube; piston snaps off to create a treated blood tube• Minimizes needlestick injuries and reduces costs by eliminating syringe transfers• Screw cap allows easy opening and re-closing• Secure locking connection between tube and needle

S-Monovette® and needle are assembled prior to blood collection. After venipuncture, the plunger is withdrawn slowly. Multiple samples may be collected while the needle is in the vein.

After collection, the piston is locked into the base and the plunger broken off.

A vacuum is formed by locking the piston into the S-Monovette® base..

The vein is punctured with the S-Monovette® needle.

The evacuated S-Monovette® is connected to the needle. Mul-tiple samples may be collected while the needle is in the vein.

S-Monovette® tubes attach to corresponding needles and adapters via a secure 3-pin locking connection. 50-place block racks are made from durable polycarbonate and stack when not in use.

S-Monovette® Needles*, Adapters, and Racks

Luer Monovette® tubes collect blood using the gentle aspiration technique only and are an economical alternative to S-Monovette® tubes if a vacuum draw is unsuitable or sterility is not required. Luer Monovette® tubes are pre-dosed with additives and feature a locking plunger that is removed after collection; no transfers are required. Luer Monovette® tubes are compatible with standard Luer needles.
