Online AttendanceStudents are required to attend online courses for the first five consecutive days of the semester excluding weekends. The following activities constitute attendance:· Email message(s) to the instructor· Submission of course assignments· Course correspondence (i.e. phone conversations, mail, fax, etc.)
Students are required to communicate with their instructors at least 3 times per week using one of the methods mentioned above for the duration of the course.

Make note of your student ID number. It will be used on all forms anddocuments you complete at MTC, including logging into your Banner StudentWeb accounts, and to identify yourself in all college communications.
Student EmailAll MTC applicants receive a MTC Student E-Mail account. MTC e-mail account activation is within 7 days after admission acceptance has occurred. If you have questions, feel free tocommunicate with our Student Affairs staff via student email.

CHANGE OF PROGRAM
Students who wish to change their program of study will need to complete an application for the new program in the Admissions Office.
A new advisor will be assigned when a student changes programs.
Additional testing may be required.
Office of RegistrarOfficial Transcripts may be sent through the Registrar’s Office. To have your official transcript sent, complete the “Request for Official Transcript” form available online or in the Registrar’s office, or request your transcript through BannerWeb. The cost for each official transcript is $5.00. The Bookstore will accept your payment via mail, telephone, or in person at the Tifton or Veterans Parkway Campus.
Unofficial transcripts can be printed by the student from their Banner Web account.
Prior to graduation, all students must complete a graduation form obtained from their advisor. This form must be turned in to the Registrar’s Office one semester in advance.
Drop/Add Students may add a course(s) to an existing schedule during
the first five (5) days of the semester.
Students may drop or withdraw from a course(s) to an existing schedule during the first three (3) days of the semester.
Students must contact the program advisor to drop or add a course.
Contact Financial Aid before withdrawing.
No ShowStudents who do not attend class within the first 3 dayswill be withdrawn from class.
You are expected to attend class beginning the first day ofthe semester. Students taking online courses must log
ontothe online course the first day of class.
Withdrawal from Class
Please notify your instructor if you wish to withdraw from class. There are no refunds for withdrawing from classes after the third day of the semester.
Online students must email their instructors about withdrawing from class.
Contact Financial Aid prior to withdrawing if you are concerned about how it might affect your financial status.

Merit List:
* A full-time student taking at least 12 credit hours
* 3.5-3.99 GPA
* No work ethic below 2.0
Academic Honors
Academic ProbationStudent fails to attain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA in his/her program of study or fails to attain at least a 2.0 each semester.
Academic SuspensionStudent fails to remove academic probation status in his/her program of study for two consecutive semesters.
Financial Aid - A Few Notes!
Many of our students are eligible for some type of financial aid. You can apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
All students should renew their financial aid each year prior to FALL Semester by completing a new FAFSA.

Completing the Financial Aid Authorization through BannerWeb
Students who wish to use their financial aid funds to pay MTC fees (in addition to mandatory tuition and fees) should complete the Online Authorization process. Fees that are not authorized by the student to be paid with financial aid funds will become the student’s responsibility to self-pay.

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)All students must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress
standards to remain eligible for financial aid.
At a minimum a student MUST:Earn a GPA of at least a 2.0 (C) for each semester.Successfully complete 67% or two-thirds of attempted coursework.Complete their program within 150% of the time normally required
for the program.
The full SAP policy is available in the Student Catalog, Student Handbook and on the MTC website under Financial Aid.
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
Students who fail to meet SAP standards for two semesters will have their financial aid suspended until they are in compliance with the SAP standards.
Students with extenuating circumstances may appeal a financial aid suspension by providing documentation to the Financial Aid Office.
Checks, Withdrawals, and More
Financial Aid refund checks are issued approximately the 4th week of the term.
Students interested in Direct Deposit should visit the Business Office to complete appropriate paperwork or visit the MTC website at and click Pay Online.
Students wishing to make schedule adjustments should contact the Financial Aid Office prior to withdrawing, as changes in enrollment hours and/or withdrawals from class can have a negative impact on financial aid awards. If aid is reduced due to schedule changes, the student may owe a refund back to MTC for unearned aid.

HOPE Program
Students using HOPE Grant funds will be required to have a 3.0 (B) GPA at the end of 30 and 60 paid semester hours in order to continue eligibility.
HOPE Scholar students must have a 3.0 (B) GPA at 30, 60, and 90 attempted semester hours and at the end of each Spring Semester to continue eligibility.
HOPE Program caps are as follows:
* 63 HOPE Grant paid semester hours
* 127 HOPE Scholar attempted semester hours
*127 HOPE Combined paid semester hours The HOPE Program pays $60.75 per credit hour for eligible students.
Payment
Please note that all fees must be paid by the Fee Payment Deadline (first day of class) of each term, including fees due after financial aid payments have been applied.
Students may pay online, in the bookstore, or may establish a payment plan. To access the payment plan, visit the MTC Website at and click Pay Online to complete the payment plan process, or you may call the Business Office for assistance at (229) 217-4186.
Students with unpaid fees after the Fee Payment Deadline will be administratively dropped from class for non-payment and will be unable to complete the term.

MTC POLICIES Dress Code
Because of safety and other concerns, in some programs, a professional dress code must be adhered to and enforced. For example, some programs will require lab coats, uniforms, or long garments to protect the skin. The following regulations shall be observed to cultivate a proper attitude toward dress and grooming by the student:
Shoes are to be worn at all times. Longer knee length types of shorts such as dress shorts, bermudas, and culottes
are acceptable. Short shorts and running/gym shorts are not permitted. Cleanliness of person and clothing is required. Use of offensive, obscene, and/or abusive words or symbols on clothing is not
permitted. Tank tops, halter tops, tube tops, or other top garments defined as skimpy,
scooped at the neck and shoulder, and/or showing excessive amounts of skin are types of inappropriate dress.

Insurance
Students in Practical Nursing, EMT, Radiologic Technology, Medical Assisting, Neuromuscular Therapist, Surgical Technology, Cosmetology, Early Childhood Care & Education and other health care programs must have liability insurance in order to participate in the clinical training portion of their programs. This insurance is purchased by the college in a group policy and paid annually by an individual student fee.
Each degree, diploma, or certificate of credit student is required to purchase student insurance on a semester basis while enrolled at MTC. To file a claim, report to the Office of Administrative Services.

Every postsecondary education institution is required by law to disclose its graduation rates annually. The 2012 graduation rate for MTC is 56.5%
Out of all students enrolled in an Award Program (Degree, Diploma, or TCC) and in at least one Vocation Course who left the college as a graduate or leaver (all leavers) during a 2 year period (the year shown and the previous year), the total number who graduated.
