Greetings everyone! I hope you are enjoying this colorful special edition.
It was a humbling experience to host the first ever Veteran Road Tour at West and East. I have met so much passionate staff who have ensured that all the veterans’ needs have been met, and have met many wonderful, devoted veterans (Army, Navy, Air Forec, Marines, and Coast Guard) who truly care about protecting our country. I see there is great need to educate veterans and veteran providers about telecommunication relay service. Too often, people are not aware of these resources and they are left in the dark, disconnected from their loves one, families, and friends. While we have a long way to go, it is refreshing to see the participants’ lives have been changed because of this great event.
Secondly, I wanted to thank the entire deaf community for making both Sign-a-thons at East and West a success. Thank you to all the exhibiters and talented people who contributed to a great event.
Enjoy reading this colorful newsletter.
