I‟ll push for my issues

No matter who is elected

+NAACP is NONPARTISAN

What does „nonpartisan‟ mean?

It means the NAACP cannot intervene in any

political campaign on behalf or in opposition

to any candidate for public office.

Nonpartisan campaigns should be designed to

educate the public about issues or to

encourage the public to exercise their right to

vote – not to tell the public how to vote.

+Election Do‟s & Don‟ts

Don‟t give implicit or explicit endorsements

Don‟t make contributions to candidates

Don‟t set up, fund or manage a PAC

Don‟t coordinate activities with a campaign

Don‟t distribute/display partisan materials

Don‟t publicize which candidates agree with positions your

organization supports

+Election Do‟s & Don‟ts

Comment & educate the general public and elected officials

Advocate for or against specific public policies

Call, write & meet with elected officials

Hold nonpartisan candidate forums

Conduct nonpartisan voter registration drives

Conduct training

Make efforts to educate candidates on issues important to

members
