4-Segment Antenna System by Venus

Indonesian manufacturer PT Subur Semesta (mainly known by its brand name Venus) has developed an innovative mesh antenna system that is perfectly suitable for C band reception and can be set up quite easily thanks to its clever design.

What makes this antenna different is the idea to divide the twelve panels of the dish into just four segments. So what you get are four antenna quarters, each of which consists of three pre-fabricated panels. Naturally, this speeds up assem-bly no end.

The product comes with an assem-bly guide which allowed us to have the

system shines thanks to its top quality. Assem-bly is easy thanks to its clever design. The dish comes complete with all required components so that you can watch satellite TV right after setting up the dish.

The individual components

boast very high quality: they are fully galvanised so that the new Venus antenna is not only quick to set up, but will also offers years of reliable operation. We tested the 2.1

All is finished – now reception needs to be measured.

most of the country. As it turns out seven feet are the perfect size for Indonesia. We have been advised by PT Subur Semesta, however, that this is only the beginning. The company wants to get a foothold in their home market first, before starting to offerother sizes of this antenna line for international markets as well.

Like with all packages from PT Subur Semesta this antenna also comes with the patented Venus water-level. Thanks to its integrated mag-nets it can simply be attached to a horizontal or vertical posi-tion of the mounting brackets and the scale will show the current angle. This takes out the horror of fine-tuning theantenna position.

We used a 2-in-1 LNB mount for our reception test. This mount, or even a 4-in-1 mount for four C band LNBs is also available from PT Subur Semesta. These LNB mounts are ideal for Indo-nesian conditions since they allow receiving signals from several positions with a single antenna. The available options are: PALAPA C2 (113.0E) and TELKOM 1 (108.0E), or ASIA-SAT 3S (105.5E) and ASIASAT 2 (100.5E), or all four of them at the same time.

After only a few minutes of aligning we were able to receive satellite TV with the new antenna. PT Subur Semesta’s new mesh antenna system is an innovative solution for the production of antenna panels with consistently high qual-ity. All this is complemented by quick assembly and easy transportation.

metre (7 feet) antenna which will mainly be sold in Indone-sia. Due to the country’s prox-imity to the equator very high elevation angles are required and this is why the antenna is mounted on the mast end. With an elevation angle near of 90° required in the region any other mounting design would not work anyway.

PT Subur Semesta’s mesh antenna is manufactured almost fully automatically, with only 15 percent of the total process requiring manual work. This makes sure the quality stays consistent and the individual panels have an exact parabolic shape. When compared to a solid antenna this dish turns out to be on equal footing. By the way, the new mesh antenna comes with almost the same hold-ing brackets and feed rails as PT Subur Semesta’s solid dishes.

The 7-feet size was chosen by PT Subur Semesta for a reason: In some regions of Indonesia a 6-foot antenna just won’t do it, while nine feet are a little too much for
