When you arrive in Madrid, one of Velázquez Español para Extranjeros staff will be your contact right from the start, so whatever you need, you can always contact them either through a phone call or in the school. We know that when you first arrive in a city or country, it’s comforting to know you have a friend.If you arrange to be picked up from the airport, he or she will be there. If you are boarding with one of our (host families) or staying in a shared flat he or she will take you there and will introduce you to your host family or to your new flat mates -depending on the type of accommodation you book.
If you are a non-resident of the European Community we will help you with all the entry VISA requirements. It’s a tedious process so we know every bit of help is greatly appreciated.

But what will your home be like? Where are you going to sleep? Our host families and shared flats are personally chosen so our students can feel happy and relaxed during their stay in Madrid. Our familias are happy to welcome students into their homes and make them feel like one of the family.
Feeling comfortable during your stay is essential!
All our accommodation is cosy, clean and comfortable. You have your own key to the house, so you can be independent. You´ll have WI-FI, so you can connect anywhere from your new home.Our accommodation is close to the school and always well served by public transport.Don’t worry about how to get to your new home, you’ll have all the information you need before you travel to Madrid.
We will also provide you with our staff contact details, so, should you need anything, you’ll have a friend nearby. In your new home you’ll find someone waiting to welcome you. We offer family stays with half board or full board. Students have breakfast, lunch and/or dinner at home, according to the type of board they have booked throughout the week and at weekends.We also offer accommodation in shared flats. Living together can become a wonderful and enriching experience based on mutual respect.

Velázquez Español para Extranjeros wants the best for its students making sure they are confortable and happy.
Not only do we look for friendliness, cleanliness and cosiness but we also want immediate access to public transport.
The most any student will have to travel is 30 minutes.
Velazquez Español para Extranjeros is so centrally located that wherever you are in the city there is always a bus or tube that will get you to the school in about half an hour.This will be your home for a while, so just sit back and relax in your own space!

OUR SPANISH COURSES
The best way to learn a language is by speaking it! In Velázquez Español
para Extranjeros we know this and that’s why our courses are based on communication. You’ll take theory and put it into practice talking to teachers and students. Enjoy practising what you’ve learnt!
You can come and learn with us any time of the year.
If you are a beginner, you can start the first Monday of the month. If your level is a bit more that just beginner you can join any Monday. All you need to start with us is pen and paper or other more modern means, as you wish!!! We’ll do the rest. But please, let us know in advance that you will be turning up and that on your first day you should be 30 minutes before classes start with your passport or ID so we can process your enrolment.

Our teachers have years of experience and know how to transmit the learning of a language in a clear and concise way, making classes enjoyable and very fruitful. They will be eager to resolve all you queries and answer all your questions. They enjoy teaching a dynamic course, so the student also enjoys learning Spanish.

Velázquez Español para Extranjeros offers courses
to prepare for the DELE exams as an extra option for those students who plan to take
the exam or simply prepare for it. But please, let us know you want to take the exam. These classes
are very specific and there must be a minimum
of 5 students.
The courses offered by Velázquez Español para Extranjeros are organised in 20 classes of 45 minutes each, that is 15 hours of tuition a week.If you want a very intensive class, you can opt for the extra modules, adding one or two hours extra a day. These modules explore Spanish culture or they could be specialised modules to prepare for the DELE exams or spanish for business.
Velázquez Español para Extranjeros offer their classes in the morning, so you can enjoy all of Madrid’s splendour in the afternoons, or simply learn more with our free extracurricular activities
These free extracurricular activities are about spanish language in
general, or about historical, cultural or social activities. These activities are offered every Monday to Friday, and
are about two hours long during the afternoon or evening, depending on that days subject.
Madrid offers plenty of cultural activities, and in Velázquez Español para Extranjeros we want to use these opportunities so our students not only learn in the classrooms, but also from the outside world. Immerse yourself in art, history, music or food and tapas. Learning a language in class is important, but we must also learn it from the people who use it.
After finishing the course with us, every student gets a certificate, to show their progress and current level. It will be a great reward after all the effort you put in!

And during the summer, the sun makes us feel full of energy and the warm temperatures make us walk the town and get refreshed and enjoy time in one of the many “al fresco terrazas” scattered all around town.

Insurance:
Velázquez Español para Extranjeros requires that non Spanish residents are covered by insurance (accidents, illness, public liability and repatriation for the duration of the stay).
If you wish, Velázquez Español para Extranjeros can ask for an insurance quote on the students’ behalf for those who would prefer to contract locally. Visas:
It’s a three step process.Firstly the student has to pay for 50% of the course (depending on the duration of the course this amount could be higher or lower) through bank transfer.Once the payment has been received Velázquez Español para Extranjeros will send the student a Certificate of Enrolment, that includes all necessary details to apply for a Student Visa. This student Visa should be applied for in the nearest embassy or consulate to their home address.
Local Contact:Those non resident students, that is those that come from abroad to study, will have a local contact to resolve their urgent needs.
Data Protection:
Velázquez Español para Extranjeros adhers to the Data Protection Act and;
• In accordance to the article LQ 15/1999, your personal details will be incorporated in our files. You have the full right to ammend or cancel these personal details by letting us know in writing.
• Also, due to the necessary communication with other involved third parties in the city contracted, such as our accommodation host families, or travel partners, your personal details will be passed on to them, and the students’ permission for these details to be handed over for the fullfilment of services contracted.
Use of Video and Photograps:
Sometimes, during of the course, photographs and videos are taken of the classes and groups, both inside and outside the school, for promotional purposes such as our web page or Social Networks. The student may give or withold their permission for them to be published.
