Introduction • The Delhi Metro is a rapid transit system serving Delhi,

Gurgaon, Noida and Ghaziabad in the National Capital Region of India. The network consists of six lines with a total length of 189.63 kilometres (117.83 mi) with 142 stations of which 35 are underground

• In order to implement Delhi Metro project , the GOI and the GNCD set up 50:50 joint venture company called DELHI METRO RAIL CORPORATION LTD.

• Conceived as social sector project funding assistance was conceived by the JAPENESE GOVERNMENT.

• Rest was contributed by GOI and GNCD through equity.

Every metro railway employees have to keep general rule book while on duty. No metro railway employee shall absent himself from

duty without prior permission of his superior officer . On ground of illness the matter should be immediately

reported to his superior officer and not leave until a competent replacement.

Use of any alcoholic drug, sedative ,narcotic or stimulant drug is prohibited and will be strictly dealt with.

Every metro rail employee shall see every effort is made for ensuring safety of public and his fellow employees .

Every metro rail employee promptly report to his supervisor in case of any occurrence which is likely to affect metro.

Every metro employee should: a) wear appropriate badge and proper uniform. b) be careful to give correct information to public. c) make complete and truthful statement at all the times in all

reports pertaining to his duty. d) be fully conversant to rules the rules relating to his duty. Every metro railway employee shall be responsible for the

security and protection of the property of the metro rail administration under his charge.

Dedication of metro man to DmrcOrganisation

• Sreedharan achieves timely completion of projects by dividing the project between sub-managers and giving them each a deadline and reviews daily progress reports. He also meets with top staff and consultants on a weekly basis. For him, ‘work is worship’ and he is known for his consistency and deliverance throughout his entire career tenure.

• Punctuality is a religion for him• In project team each member of the team was interviewed

personally by me.I went through their track record particularly with regard to their integrity-E.Sreedharan

Salient Features of the DMRC Culture

Attitude of DMRC Organisation

Job satisfaction: Employees are getting full pay scale as per sixth pay

commission they are satisfied in salary prospective . Employees are least satisfied because they have to face

political pressure not only in recruitment process, promotions contract warding but also in land acquisition.

Job involvement: Each employee has to prepare detailed project report against a benchmark (Every Monday , the heads of department have to meet to

review progress )
