Call for Papers The Instute of Educaon (IOE) is housed within the Faculty of Arts, Law and Educaon at The University of the South Pacific (USP) and is secretariat to the Pa- cific Associaon of Teacher Educators (PATE) and the Pacific Educaon Research Foundaon (PERF) - a project of the Rethinking Pacific Educaon Iniave for and by Pacific Peoples (RPEIPP). IOE is pleased to announce the Vaka Pasifiki Educaon Conference, 2014. The Conference theme is: Weaving Theory and Pracce in Teacher Educaon for Oceania. The Conference will have four concurrent streams: (1) Weaving theory and pracce in Language, Literacy, and Teacher educaon (2) Weaving theory and pracce in Numeracy, Assessment, ICT, and Teacher educaon (3) Weaving theory and pracce in Educaonal Administraon in Teacher educaon And a final general stream specifically designed to connue RPEIPP’s mandate: (4) Re-thinking and transforming Pacific Learning, Teaching, and Teacher educaon . Conference conveners now invite Teacher Educators, Educaonal Policy-makers, Teachers, Lecturers, Researchers, Postgraduate Students, and all with a passion for teacher educaon in Oceania, to submit abstracts for papers to be presented at the Vaka Pasifiki Conference. The 2014 Conference will be held at Fa’onelua Convenon Centre, Nuku’alofa, Kingdom of Tonga, on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th September 2014. Vaka Pasifiki provides an opportunity for the sharing of ideas, presentaon of research and best pracce, and discussion of issues relevant to teacher educaon, educa- onal policy and pracce, and teaching and learning in Oceania. Registraon closes 8 September 2014. All registered aendees will pay the Conference Fee of TOP$40 at the conference registraon desk on 24 Sept 2014. Early Bird Registra- ons (before 30 April 2014) will pay a discounted Conference Fee of TOP$30 on 24 Sept 2014. SUBMISSION OF PAPERS Abstracts are welcomed for either: Full presentaon (20 mins plus 10 mins queson me) or Short presentaon (10 mins plus 5 mins queson me). Presenters are invited to submit their full papers by 31 August for publishing in the Conference Pro- ceedings and for consideraon for an edited book.
