VACANCY – Branch Employed Caseworker/Organiser – Wolverhampton General Branch 12-month fixed-term contract (subject to one month’s notice) Starting salary: 29,558 37 hours per week Closing date: Friday 19 th June 2015 Successful candidates will bring their experience and skills to assist this active branch to recruit, map membership density, develop new activists, organise, undertake casework and drive forward our work, particularly in academies and small employers. OVERALL SUMMARYThe post-holder will be expected to undertake an extensive range of organising and representation work as set out below. The post-holder is expected to work with the branch committee.Work Areas. Organising o Organising and developing lay member organisation o Membership Mapping across workplaces o Supporting and Coaching new non-council stewards o Collective Bargaining on local workplace issues o Developing local bargaining structures o Research information to support campaigning o Co-ordinating campaigns and representation o In co-operation with branch officers to build Branch capacity e.g. systems, communications, press releases, newsletters, websites and building local and media profile. Representationo Collective bargaining at workplace level that includes negotiating of:- Pay Shift rotas Working Patterns

New working arrangements Health and safety issues Training and learning agreements Local facilities agreemento Individual representation that covers: Grievances Disciplinaries Local workplace issues General advice and guidance to members Mentoring and building individual capacity of activists

Undertake other duties as required by the grade definition or job profile of the post.
