DescriptionThe V9000 series PICV pressure independentcontrol valves consist of 3 main parts:

1. Differential Pressure RegulatorThe integrated diaphragm regulator keeps thedifferential pressure stable in the area close to thevalve outlet section. The strength of the springcounteracts the differential pressure (P2-P3) on thediaphragm. When the differential pressure across the control valve varies (due to the change of thesupply pressure or as a consequence of a change inthe input control signal), the moving plunger (A) reacts creating a new balance and keeping thedifferential pressure stable.

2. Control ValveThe control valve inserted between sections P2-P3pressures, allows flow variations according to relation:Q=Kv * √Δ PWhere Δ P remains stable thanks to the differentialpressure regulator. Within any flow rate setting it ispossible to maintain a stable flow. The globe controlvalve plunger has an equal percentage characteristic.

3. Manual Adjustment KnobThe maximum value of the flow can be preset usingthe graduated manual adjustment knob.The percentage value, indicated on the scale, matchesthe maximum flow rate percentage. This value can bechanged turning the adjustment knob until it reachesthe selected position (matching the percentageindicated on the scale). A locking mechanism avoidsthe valve set values from being changed inadvertently. Full control authority remains regardless of a manualmaximum flow pre setting.

partial load requirement due to constant flow output.

• The regulator corrects any differential pressure changes this helps toachieve a constant temperature control and reduces hunting which inreturn extends the life of the internal parts.

• V9000 series PICV control valves offer remarkable adjustmentflexibility; they can be accurately set to a specific flow rate value forprecise modulating control maintaining the required flow rate at anychange in conditions therefore saving energy.

• The automatic flow rate limitation eliminates system adjustment costs.

• Easy on site adjustments will allow you to modify designed flow ratesin the future.

• Since it is not necessary to adjust the valve after installation the waterbalancing is not necessary.

Ease of Operation

• In order to adjust the flow rate, just set the selected maximum valueusing the manual adjustment knob.

• It is simple to choose the suitable valve as the only parameter to beconsidered is flow rate.

• V9000 series PICV valve maximum adjustment matches the maximumflow rate allowed by the pipe size on the basis of the valuesestablished by International standards.

• Valve authority calculation is not required

• Compact design allows installing the valves in small spaces such as fancoils or heating cabinets.

• The special manual adjustment knob allows change to the flow ratewithout disassembling the actuators.

1. User Installations Instructions:

The valve has to be mounted with the arrow in the direction of theflow. Mounting it in the wrong direction can result in valve damage. If flow reversal is possible on the site a check valve should be installed.To maintain a maximum preset constant flow, a minimum differentialpressure is required for the valve.

2. Maximum flow Adjustment

To set the selected flow follow these steps:

Lift the lock pin to unlock the selector Turn the selector to the target position Press the lock pin to lock the selector in thefinal position

3. Operating Control Range:

In order to verify if the PICV valve is workingwithin the 5-58psi operating range measure thedifferential pressure across the valve as shown in

the picture. If the measured differential pressure ishigher than the start up pressure, the valve iskeeping the stable flow at the set value.
