Campus Recreation accepts cash, checks, Rowdy Dollars and credit cards. Current UTSA faculty/staff are eligible for payroll deduction. locker rentalDAY-USE LOCKERS (Main Campus) - Available on the first floor by the racquetball courts and on the second floor by the Rec and Rowdy Studios - Belongings may not be left overnight. At closing, locks and belongings will be removed by Campus Recreation Staff - You must supply your own lock
COIN OPERATED LOCKERS (Main Campus) - Available in the main corridor on the first floor - The cost is 25 cents ($0.25) per use - Belongings left after closing will be removed by Campus Recreation Staff
LOCKER RENTALS (Main Campus & Downtown) - Rented per semester only - Main Campus: $40/full locker or $24/half locker - Downtown: $24 - Rent at the Membership Services Desk (Main Campus) or the Fitness Center (Downtown) beginning the first day of classes - It’s a first-come, first-serve opportunity - You may share your locker, but only the individual who rented the locker will have access to locker numbers, combinations or contents after clean-out - Lockers not renewed or cleaned out by the expiration date will have the contents removed and stored. Items will be donated to charity after 14 days

climb-a-palooza Monday, October 26 - Friday, October 30All DayThis week-long climbing competition is fun for all levels of climbers. Compete as either a beginner or advanced climber in both men’s and women’s categories. The competition is a red point format through both bouldering and top rope climbing. Friday night’s grand finale includes competition awards and raffle prizes.

group exercise classesWith more than 60 classes per week, our Group Exercise (GX) program is definitely something to check out. Classes are open to all members at no extra fee. The current class schedule and descriptions can be found posted throughout the Rec Center and online at campusrec.utsa.edu.
group fitness instructor training: G-FITG-FIT is a great opportunity if you love taking group exercise classes and have thought about taking it to that next level - teaching classes. instructional classesThese specialty six-week Instructional Classes help take your skills to a new level. They are designed for participants to learn and/or improve on a specific skill set. fit on demandLooking for a personalized group fitness experience for your organization? Book your favorite group exercise class with one of our certified instructors. body composition assessmentsThroughout the semester, certified Personal Trainers offer body composition assessments utilizing calipers. Drop-in days and hours are posted online and throughout the facility. It is best to be assessed before you workout and it is recommended that you wear shorts.
fitness assessmentsWe offer two (2) free fitness assessments utilizing Polar BodyAge® per semester for members. Assessments measure body composition, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. Fitness Assessments are by appointment only. You may register by downloading the appropriate forms on our website or in person at the Membership Services Desk. You can also request the forms by emailing [email protected].

Our Student Cooking Instructors will teach you how to make healthy and delicious meals on your own and provide recipes that are quick, easy and affordable. international cooking series Learn about cuisines from around the world. This cultural experience will teach you about ingredients used in various regions of the world and the role of food and cooking in different countries. Let’s explore San Antonio. Every semester we provide an array of local outdoor opportunities to popular hot spots and little known gems. These are typically afternoon or one-day trips and include:
Mountain biking along the Leon Creek Greenway Day hikes or Full Moon hikes just outside the city limits River canoeing along the San Antonio River Service activities like trail/river clean-ups On campus outdoor skills clinics And more!
Ready to venture a little further? Trips around Texas can be day trips, but are normally weekend adventures to some of the coolest parts of the Lone Star State. Here is a sample of what you can expect:

rockwallOur Rockwall is the tallest indoor climbing wall in the UT system and has routes for every skill level and interest. We offer bouldering (climbing without ropes less than 12 feet off the ground), top roping (roped climbing with a belay) either on the 54-foot or 32-foot wall, and lead climbing for intermediate and advanced climbers. Routes are updated on a regular basis and graded with up to 5.12 in difficulty.
No experience is necessary. Outdoor Pursuits Rockwall Staff are available to teach you the technique, lingo, and skills needed to be proficient in no time. A brief 10 minute orientation is required of first time users. Belay classes and movement technique clinics are offered to help you gain the skills you need to join the fun.
equipment orientationsA one-time orientation is required if you want to check out bikes or boats. A minimum of two and maximum of ten people are required for the orientations to make. To register for an orientation, visit the ORC. The orientations are offered Wednesdays and Thursdays at the following times:
- Bikes: 4pm - 5pm (be prepared to go on a short ride) - Boats: 5pm - 6pm (bring your car or truck to the loading dock)
climbing eventsClimb-a-Palooza Oct. 26 - 30This week-long climbing competition is fun for all levels of climber. Compete as either a beginner or advanced climber in both men’s and women’s categories. On Sight Climbing Competition Mar. 1 (1pm)The On Sight Climbing Competition is a one day, on sight format through both bouldering and top rope climbing. Prizes are awarded for men and women, beginner and advanced categories.
Group Climbs Thursdays (10pm - 12am) and Fridays (7pm - 9pm)Get your friends or student organization (10 or more people) up on the Rockwall this year. Group Climbs require reservations two (2) weeks in advance and are free for registered student organizations.
climbing skills clinicsTop Rope Belay Wednesdays and Thursdays (5pm - 7pm)Belaying is the art of holding the rope so climbers remain safe. All climbers at the Rockwall are expected to either take this clinic or challenge the test by their fourth visit to the wall. Clinics have a four person minimum.
Lead Climbing Last Saturday of the month (10am - 2pm)This 4-hour clinic will teach you the fundamentals of lead belaying, clipping protection, rope management, and how to fall gracefully. Like they say, “If you aren’t flying, you aren’t trying.” Clinics have a four person minimum.
Coaching for Climbers Every other Thursday (5pm - 7pm)At this bi-weekly clinic, you will learn different climbing techniques and training methods to advance your skills.

- Group exercise classes are free to all students and Campus Rec members.

- Cardio Minute Madness is offered throughout the semester. Complete 150
minutes per week on cardio equipment.
- Free Fridays are for faculty and staff that are currently not Campus Rec members.
Come take a group exercise class or try out our cardio and weight equipment.
