Using NoodleTools & EasyBib
In this presentation, we will learn about
2 great software programs, NoodleTools & EasyBib.
You can use them to make a list of the sources of information
for your projects.
This list is called a Bibliography or Reference
List.
NoodleTools can be one of a student’s best
friends.
It is fast and easy. You don’t have to
remember where to put a dot, a comma, a colon, quotation
marks, underlining, etc.
Then Databases
and E-books
Go to the library homepage :
library.hct.ac.ae Click on
Resources
Scroll down to Citation Tools
and Bibliography
Click on NoodleTool

Don’t forget your
password !
Follow the instructions to Register or
Sign In
Or, click on a list you made
before.
You can also share a list with
your teacher
Click : Create a New
List
Type a name for your list, maybe the
name of your project and the date
Choose a style : MLA (Advanced or
Starter), APA or Chicago. Ask your
teacher which one to use.
Choose the type of item you want to cite, for example, a book
or website. Click : Create
Citation
Fill in the blanks with the
information.
Click : Check
Spelling
Click : Generate Citation
You can print, save as a Word
document, share, email etc.
When you have a complete list, you have some
options.
Here is another easy-to-use
product to help you format citations.
It’s called EasyBib. “Bib” is
short for bibliography.
It is not from HCT databases; rather it is on the Internet.
For MLA, it is free. For APA, you have to subscribe and
pay a fee.

Click to select the kind of
item
You have many options, for example, Book, Online
Database, Website
Click : Next
If you don’t have the ISBN, enter the other information.
Be careful with spelling and capital
letters.
For a book, enter the ISBN, a 10 or 13 digit number
which is the book’s ID #.
When you are finished, you can export your list to
Word
The information is put in the correct
format.
Ask your teacher or your friendly librarian if you
