User guide of ENJOY Audience Response Systems

(IR117/IR118/RF217/RF218/RF219)

Part 1. ENJOY ARS overview The ENJOY Audience Response System (ENJOY ARS) is an easy-to-use response

system that obtains immediate feedback from every person synchronously in a classroom

or conference room.

It's a system composed of hardware (instructor remote, audience (student) remote,

receiver and cable, etc) and software.

The ENJOY ARS often be used to conduct the following activities: Normal Quiz, Rush

Quiz, Elimination, Voting, Survey, Grade, Ad-lib Quiz, Oral Response, Attendance(Rollcall),

Grouping and Multi Mode. Almost simultaneity, the ENJOY ARS can display the result

histogram and score board. It will produce 11 statistics reports about these activities.

The ENJOY software include 3 interactive modes:

“Quiz master” uses a PowerPoint plug-in to enrich the presentations, and this makes it

very easy to learn and use;

“Standard Exam” is used for self-paced / paper - based test;

“Quiz freedom” can be used in some other software interfaces (such as IWB, Internet

online exam software, FLASH, WORD and so on), no need prepare for questions, and

easy to capture the reply result chart and save them in user’s own documents.

Part 2. Hardware

1. Student keypad

For IR117/IR118/RF217/RF218

Each student keypad has a unique ID number. The ID number can be set or reset by the

manager. This feature is very important, if one student keypad is lost or damaged and

unfortunately it is in dire need of, don’t worry, you can replace a spare remote by just

setting or resetting the ID number.

① Display “Question No.” or “Student ID”.

② ID indicator, the appearance of “ID” means ①

representing Student ID, the disappearance of

the “ID” means ① representing Question No.

③ Rush quiz indicator, press button, the

indicator will appear in “One by One” mode.

④ Working Mode indicator: The indicator pointing to first line means “One by One” mode;

pointing to second line means “Self-paced” mode. The disappearing of the indicator

means “Homework” mode. (Fore more details, please refer to Working Mode and Answer

Type in item 4)

⑤ Answer content: Display A-F or 0-100.

⑥ Status Indicator: ”>>>”: Signal is sending; “OK”: Signal has been sent by remoter and

has been received by receiver; : error.

⑦ Answer Type indicator: There are 3 types: “A-F single”, “A-F multi” and “0-100”.

3- Key area

(1) ：Clear display, and power on/off

Power on: press and the remote will enter “one by one” mode automatically, the LCD

screen will display the ID No. of the remote, and the answer type will be the type chosen

last time.

Power off: press and hold for more than 3 seconds, the remote will be closed. It will turn off

automatically if not been pressed for more than one hour.

(2) >>>/OK：Indicate signal sending or has been received successfully.

(3) :It is used for choosing previous or next question under the “self-paced”

and “homework” mode. If we want to skip-to a given question number from No. 1 to

No.100,we can just press “Fn” + , then input the question No., and then press “>>>/OK”

key.

(4) Remote ID setting：we can press‘Fn’+‘8’and then cooperate with the ID setting software

to set the ID No..

(5) Input A-F or 0-9: under the answer type of “A-F single” and “A-F multi”, we can input

A-F. Under the answer type of “0-100”, we can input 0-100.

(6) Rush Quiz : The Buzz in / Rush Quiz only effective under “one by one” working

mode. Any of the three answer types can work. It cannot work under “self-paced” and

“homework” working mode.

4- Describe about Working Mode and Answer Type

(1) Working mode includes three modes: “one by one” (default working mode),

“self-paced” and “homework”. How to switch between the three modes? There are two

means: automatic switch and manual switch.

Automatic switch: when the receiver is active, press “>>>/OK” key will adjust the working

mode to the current right mode automatically.

Manual switch: press “Fn” + “0/mode” to switch between “one by one” and

“self-paced” modes; press “Fn” + “9” to inter “homework” mode; furthermore, press “Fn” +

“>>>/OK” will inter “homework” mode and begin to sending signals directly. Press “Fn” +

“0/mode” to exit “homework” mode and inter other modes.

Under “one by one” mode, the first line in the LCD screen will display remote ID, the

remote will only send answer signals every time.

Under “self-paced” mode, the first line in the LCD screen will display question No., the

remote will send both answer signals and question No.

(2) Answer type includes three types: “A-F single”， “A-F Multi” and “0-100”. There

are two means of switch: automatic switch and manual switch.

Automatic switch: when the receiver is active, press “>>>/OK” key will switch the answer

type to the current right type automatically.

Manual switch: press “Fn” + to switch between the three types.

(3) Cooperation of working mode, answer type and software programs:

The corresponding working mode of the software “Quiz Master” is “one by one”, under this

mode, the answer type could be any one of the three: “A-F Single”, “A-F Multi” and

“0-100”.

The corresponding working mode of the software “Standard Exam” is “self-paced” and

“homework”. Under “self-paced” mode, the answer type could be “A-F Single”, “A-F Multi”

and “0-100”. Under “homework” mode, the answer type could only be “A-F single”.

1.3. Illustration-IR117 & RF217

Each student keypad has an ID number. The ID number can be

1- LCD screen (see as right)

① Display “Remoter ID”. Range:0000-9999

② Input mode indicator: “12” means digital input; “ab” means

lowercase letter input; “AB” means capital letter input.

③ Remoter status indicator: “ ” means input or modify status;

“__“ means stop reply status; “>>” means sending; “OK”

means operation success; “ ” means operation fail; “ ”

means fail to connect to receiver; “ ” means searching for

receiver signal.

④ Question type indicator: It indicates the question types. (The

detail is scribed in “3.The display and key input operation for all kinds of question types”)

⑤ Battery voltage indicator. Because the system is very low power consumption, it can still

work for long time when low power is shown by the battery indicator.

⑥ Question options and input answer display.

2- Key area

There are 3 kinds of keys: function key, input key and key combination

(1) Function key：

① “OK”: For confirm and sending;

② “CE”: For cancel and back space;

③ “<”,“>”: For select previous or next option, or select previous or next question

④ “ ” : Input mode switch key;

⑤ “ ” : Rush key, for rush and hand-raise mode;

⑥ “Fn”: Used combination with other keys.

(2) Input key: Include options input “A-J” , digital input “0-9”, lowercase letters, capital

letters input and symbol input.

The input way is very like mobile phones. For example, when press the button “B2”, if input

mode is blank, the option “B” or option “2” is input; if input mode is “12”, the digital “2” is

input; if input mode is “ab”, when stroke the button continually, the input content will cycle

from “a” to “b” to “c”; if input mod is “AB”, when stroke the button continually, the input

content will cycle from “A” to “B” to “C”.

(3) Key combination:

① Fn + ON : Remoter power on. After power on, the remoter will search for receiver

signal automatically, and keep synchronization with receiver. If fail, then display the error

icon “ ”.

② Fn + OFF : Remoter power off by hand. When power on, it will enter standby status if

no any keystroke in 5 minutes; and it will power off automatically if no any keystroke in 30

minutes.

③ Fn + CE: Clear all input content.

④ Fn + 1: Jump to appointed question no in self-paced test mode.

⑤ Fn +2: Search for receiver signal by hand.

⑥ Fn + 3: Join to receiver in dynamic mode. (This function need new version software

which support dynamic work mode)

⑦ Fn + : Enter or exit short message status. (The remoter can not enter short

message status until the system stopping replying questions)

3-The display and key input operation for all kinds of question types

(1). Multiple-choice: “x/n” (Question type indicator display). “n” represents option number,

“x” represents correct option number. “x=1”means single correct option, “x=?” means the

correct option number is uncertain.

The option code will display on LCD, which can be “A-H” or “1-8” (determined by software).

When press option key, the corresponding option code will reverse video; press “CE” key,

all answer will be cleared; if the number of options selected equal the appointed correct

option number, press “OK” key, all answer will be sent to receiver. (Before complete

sending, you can press “CE” to cancel sending action every time.)

(2). Sort order: “/n”. The “n” represents option number, can from 1 to 9.

The first line will display option code, and the second line will display sorted list.

Input the option key (can not repeat input), the corresponding option code will move from

line 1 to line 2 on the LCD.

(3) Catalogue: “( )/n”. The option code can only be “A-J”, “n” represents the last option

code here.

The catalogue groups display on LCD; press “<” and ”>” key to select one group for input;

press “CE” to clear on group, and press “Fn” + “CE” to clear all groups.

(4) Fill up text: “Txt”. The input way is similar mobile phone. Up to 120 characters can be

input each time.

Press “ ”, switch input mode among “digital”, “lower case” and “upper case”(default

“lower case”) ; press “<” and “>” key, move the cursor left and right; press “CE”, backspace;

press “Fn” + ”CE”, clear all input.

(5) Fill up number: ”0~9”. The input way is same as “fill up text” type. Up to 15 characters

can be input each time.

Press “ ”, switch input mode among “digital”, “lower case” and “upper case”(default

“digital”) ; When input mode is “digital”, you can input fraction by press “ ” key; press

“CE”, backspace; press “Fn” + ”CE”, clear all input.

(6) Self-paced mode: “Qxx”. “xx” represents current question no. Up to 15 characters can

be input each question.

Press “ ”, switch input mode among “option input”(the input indicator is blank), “digital”,

“lower case” and “upper case”(default “option input”); press “<” or “>” key to select

previous question or next question; press “Fn” + “1”, then input 2 digital numbers to jump

to the appointed question. The input question no can not be bigger than maximum

question no which set by software.

(7) Register student ID: “RSID”. Up to 15 characters can be input to register student ID

when doing roll call check. The input way is same as “fill up number”.

(8) Short message: “ ”. The input way is same as “fill up text”.

(9) Rush quiz: “***”. The rush icon “ ” display on LCD. You can press “ ” key to send

signal to receiver, no need press “OK” key.

(10) Other question type: “***”. Other question types include “Vote for/Against”,

“Right/Wrong”, “Yes/No”, “True/False” and so on.

The option content will display on LCD, You can press “<”, “>” or “1”, “2”, “3” key to select

certain option, and then press “OK” to send it to receiver.

4- The relations between working mode/question type and software.

The software “standard exam” only uses “self-paced mode”; the software “quiz master”

uses all question types except “self-paced mode”; the software “quiz freedom” uses most

question types except “self-paced mode” and some other question types.

2. Instructor Keypad

2.1. Specification

Function: it is used by the instructor to controlling the course

of the activities, presenting the PPT files, displaying the result

and reports.

2.2. Illustration

3 - Indicate light, it will turn on while the key is pressed.

5-“Power”, it used to start/stop the presentation of the PPT

files and start/stop an activity.

6 – “Report”, it is used to display the Score Board

7-“Result”, it is used to display the result.

8-“Mode Switch”, it is used to select activity mode in Multi

Mode.

9-“?”, it is used to go to Feedback mode in Multi Mode.

10-“Up” and 15-“Down”, they are used control the present of the PPT files: page-up and

page-down, forward and reverse.

11-“OK”, it is used to confirm something.

12- “stop”, it is used to stop gathering the response information of the audience remotes.

13-“Start” and “pause”, it is used to start gathering the response information of the

audience remotes; when press again, it will be used to pause the timer while the receiver

continues to gather information.

14-“F2” and 16-“F1”, assistant function buttons

3. Receiver (RF219/RF218/RF217)

Receivers include main receiver and extensive receivers. Each set of ARS system

includes one main receiver only, if more than 400 participants, the extensive

receiver/receivers can be added to the system.

Each receiver (includes main receiver and extensive receiver) supports 400 audience

handsets.

The receivers are alike, but they can be separated easily by the mark on their backsides.

3.1 Receiver – RF219/RF218/RF217

They are used to receive signals from the remotes, and send information. The receiver is

connected to the USB port of the computer.

The connection is type A: Receiver

4. Main Receiver and Extension Receiver (IR118 &

IR117)

There are 2 kinds of main receiver, Type A is with USB port and type B is with RS232 port.

They are used to receive signals from the remotes, and send information. The receivers

are alike, but they can be separated easily by the mark on their backsides. The main

receiver is connected to computer; the extension receiver is connected to the main

receiver and to each other.

If the environment is bad for IR system (for example the space is too large, such as the

length is more than 20 meters), the extension receiver is needed, and at the same time,

the main receiver should be the type B with RS232 port, and an adapter is needed.

4.1 Main Receiver – IR118 & IR117 (USB port or 232 port)

4.2 Extension Receiver (selective) – IR118 & IR117

Specification and illustration are as same as above

We can use anyone of the three RG45 ports to connect the main receiver with 232 Port or

the extension receivers.

Main receiver is connected to the USB port or RS232 port directly.

Extensive receivers can only be linked to the main receiver one by one.

4.3 Hardware connection illustration – IR118 & IR 117

For type A, the main receiver can be connected to USB port of computer directly with the

USB converter; no extension receiver can be connected to it. The connection is same as

the connection of RF219/RF218/RF217.

For type B, the main receiver can be chained with up to 14 extension receivers, so, even in

a very big or trapeziform auditorium with pillars, or in several isolated rooms, the system

can also run. Every receiver has three ports. Every port can be used for connecting to

another receiver, as shown below:

5. Main cable, extension cable & USB cable (IR118 &

IR117)

5.1 Main cable (USB port or 232

port, selective)

Main cable is used to connect the main receiver to

the 232 COM or USB port of computer. If we use

232 COM port cable, and the COM port of the

computer is used up, we can use USB convert RS232 cable（selective）. It has an adaptor

port, which is connected to a DC12V, 800mA Power Adapter, as shown on the right:

If the COM port of the computer is used up, we can use USB convert RS232 cable to

connect the main receiver to the computer.

5.3 Extension cable (selective)

Extension cable is used to connect one extension receiver

to main receiver or to another extension receiver. As shown

on the right:

Part 3. Software

Software overview

The ENJOY ARS software is Plug-in software of MS PowerPoint. It is easy to learn and

easy to use.

The ENJOY ARS software has 5 programs: ENJOY Quiz Master, ENJOY Setting and

Query, ENJOY Exam Paper Editor, ENJOY Standard Exam and ENJOY Quiz Freedom.

The ENJOY Quiz Master is used to edit questions and conduct quiz or games.

The ENJOY Setting and Query is used to testing the hardware, setting /resetting

audience remote ID number, managing the information of the audience (class) and the

active records (reports).

The ENJOY Standard Exam & ENJOY Exam Editor are used for self-paced

multiple-choice examinations conducting and editing.

The Enjoy Quiz freedom can be used in some other software interfaces (such as IWB,

Internet test software, FLASH, WORD, online exam and so on), no need prepare for

questions, and easy to capture the reply result chart and save them in user’s own

documents.

System Requirements:

One PC

Intel Pentium II or higher processor

One USB port or COM port 9Pin RS-232 if needed

A minimum of 64 MB RAM

At least 100 MB of hard drive space for software

Microsoft Windows Me/2000/xp/vista/Windows 7

Microsoft Office 2000 or higher (The security level of PowerPoint should be set to

“medium”)

Screen resolution of 800x600 or higher

Projection system, i.e. projector, Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), or TV (recommended, but

not required)

System Installation First, put the software disk in computer drive. Second, open it, double click

“setup_Enjoy_All.exe” in the root directory. Third, install it following the prompt displayed.

If it has been installed, we suggest you uninstall the old one before install the new.

The default installation path is: C:\Program Files\Enjoy ARS…., and it will produce three

shortcut icons on the desk: ENJOY Quiz Master,ENJOY Quiz Freedom and ENJOY

Setting and Query.(For RF219, is ENJOY Quiz Master and ENJOY Quiz Freedom)

If the receiver is USB interface, when you connect the receiver with PC for the first time,

you should install the USB driver. After the USB driver installed correctly, you can find

there will be a new virtual Com Port in your PC hardware manager. The virtual Com Port

number should be set lower than 17.

Before use Enjoy ARS software, you maybe need select the hardware type use a setting

program. The default path is Start -> all program -> Enjoy ARS -> Hardware type setting ->

88888888(default password) -> choose hardware type.

How to use the software (The help file in each program will

give you more detailed information)

1. ENJOY Quiz Master

There are two important definitions that we should understand:

One PPT file = one quiz paper

One slide = one question

Run the ENJOY Quiz Master (double-click the ENJOY Quiz Master shortcut menu on the

desk), the PowerPoint will start up automatically. The system will ask you to choose class

name, teacher name and subject name. If the information has not been set before, or we

use is casually, we may choose “Temporary Class”, “Temporary Teacher”, “Temporary

Subject”, and input the number of the Class (not conclude the instructor). The ID number

and the name of the audience will be list on the right side.

We will also see that four toolbars and one active form are added to the PPT window. The

five toolbars are: Quiz Genius, Paper Editor, Model design, Setting and Query and

Quiz Help. The default active form is Quiz Genius. It will change between the four toolbars

while clicking.

1.1. Quiz Genius

1.1.1. The normal progresses of using a Quiz Genius are as

following:

But not every progress is necessary in an activity. Let’s introduce them one by one.

(1). Set Class:

You may reset the information of the class by click “Class Set” button.

(2). Load a paper:

Load a prepared quiz paper. In Ad-lib Quiz, Attendance(Rollcall) and Grouping, it doesn’t

need to load papers.

(3). Select Participate Mode: (default mode is by individual)

Choose the audience participate form, by individual or by group. If by group, the response

of any member in a group will delegate the whole group.

(4). Select Activity Modes: (default mode may be preset while editing the paper)

Choose a conducting active mode. We will introduce them later (See 1.1.2 Activity Modes

Describe).

(5). Run / present question:

After finishing the above setting, we will start an interesting quiz.

Press the instructor remote “power” key or click the button in the program, the present

will show as bellow. You can auto show the quiz by holding press “Shift” key at the same

time when clicking the button. That means the system will present the questions one

by one automatically. The teacher can preset the transfer time.

(6). Start Gathering.

After the instructor clicked the start/pause button (by PC mouse or by remote), the system

will then begin to gather signals from the audience remote, shown as following:

2-status bar: indicate the following message: current page number/total page number,

replied audience number/total audience number and some information about the

operation.

3-Command menu: Include the following keys “Previous Page”, “Next Page”,

“Start/Pause”, “Stop”, “Result”, “Report”, “F1”, “F2” and “Exit”. It is used to control the

presentation slides, and the proceeding of quiz.

4-Activity mode indicator: show the current activity mode.

5-Timer: It begins to countdown while the system began to gather the response

information (The timer’s color becomes green). It will show the time remained (count by

second). It will alarm when the time remained is less than 10 seconds. When it comes 0,

the receiver will stop receiving the response of the audience (The timer’s color becomes

red). The instructor may press the stop button ahead of it to stop gathering information. If

time is not enough, the instructor may press the start/pause button or click the “Pause” key

in command menu to stop countdown temporarily (The timer’s color becomes yellow).

6-Answering status bar: show the ID numbers of the audience (or group numbers), every

number has background color, black is default color, gray indicates absence, blue

indicates response signal received, (the audience can change their choice, the

background color will change between navy-blue and Cambridge blue, the system will

record the last press signal). While displaying the result, the background color will change

red or green, red indicates wrong answer, green indicates right.

(7). Result and Report

Press the button “result” (by mouse or instructor remote), the display will show the result

(red or green, green indicate correct) of every audience on the answering status bar, and

multiple-choice histogram, green indicate correct option.

Press the button “report” (by mouse or instructor remote), it will show the score board of

the audience.

(8). Exit

Press the “power” remote button or the “exit” key by mouse, the system will ask whether you

intended to exit or not, and prompt you to save the records.

1.1.2. Activity Modes Describe

The system has 10 activity modes: Normal Quiz, Rush Quiz, Elimination, Vote & inquiry,

Grade, Ad-lib Quiz, Hand-raise, Attendance(Rollcall), Grouping Let's introduce them one by

one.

(1).Normal Quiz:The Quiz with standardized multiple-choice and one right answer. Everyone

can reply it in the same time.

(2).Rush Quiz: The first audience pressed "Rush Quiz" get the power to choose the right

answer in stated time. If right, add score, wrong, subtract score.

(3).Elimination: The audience choosing the right answer can enter the next bout, the loser is

restricted by system automatically.

(4).Vote, Inquiry: Questions with standardized multiple-choice and no right answer. Choose

one from the candidates. The maximum number of candidates is 6 (ABCDEF).

(5).Grade: Grade the object displayed. A- excellent, 10 points; B-all right, 8 points; C-pass, 6

points; D- not good, 4 points; E- bad, 2 points; F-worst, 0 point. The system will display the

total scores of each object and the sort by total mark or average mark.

(6).Ad-lib Quiz: It is used for the quiz with standardized multiple-choice and one right

answer. It needn't slides prepared by using the Paper Editor. The instructor explains or

describes (dictate or write on the blackboard or by other means) the questions and choices,

and then press start. The audiences press the remotes to response. After the instructor pressed

the "stop" button, the software will stop gathering information from the audience remotes, and

ask the instructor to set the right choice and scores of the questions, and display the result and

reports subsequently.

(7).Hand-raise: It is used for the quiz without standardized choice. The instructor displays

the paper and press start, the audience who click the "Rush Quiz" first, gets the power to

response (answering or asking questions, or do anything else). The instructor grades the

audience according his/her response, adds score or deducts score.

(8).Attendance(Rollcall): The participation mode is restricted to individual. After the

instructor press "start", the audiences press any key. When the instructor presses "stop", the

Rollcall is over, the software will pop-up the roll book. The response procedure is for “Fixed

ID” type class.

There is another response procedure for “Unfixed ID” type class, showing as below:(this is

for RF219 only)

The students should input their student No for attendance check.

(9).Grouping: The participation mode is restricted to individual. The audiences who press

"A" are arranged into group 1, " B", group 2… "F", group 6, "Rush Quiz", group 7, The

audiences who have not pressed any key will be added to group 1. The grouping is over

when the instructor presses "stop", and the software will display the member amount and

proportion of every group. The answering status bar will show the group number of every

audience by displaying different color.

(10).Multi mode: In one activity multi mode such as Normal Quiz, Random Call,

Hand-raise, Ad-lib Quiz and Feedback can be selected. The teacher can press "mode

switch" button on the teacher remoter to switch activity mode, and press "?" button can

select Feedback mode directly.

1.2. Paper Editor

Because the ENJOY ARS software is a Plug-in software of MS PowerPoint, we can use all

the tools of PowerPoint to edit the questions, e.g. open a file, insert a picture, insert film

and voice, project slides. This Paper Editor is special designed for quiz and other audience

response activities.

(1).Genius: Exit Paper Editor, switch to Quiz Genius.

(2).Load: Load a PPT file (a quiz paper) prepared. The default load path is:

“(Installation Path)\ paper base.”

(3).New: The system will list models for choice to edit a new paper. The instructor may

use their individual models prepared. If the user doesn’t choose the modules, the system

will produce a blank slide.

(4).Save: Save the current paper. The default path is: “(Installation Path)\ paper base”.

(5).Info: Display the paper’s information including test paper name, path of test paper, total

questions, total mark, total time limited, statistic of item difficulty, statistic and list of

questions with no right choice.

(6).Add: Add a question (slide) according the model if have selected a model, else add a

question copy of the question 1 or a blank question (slide).

(7).Question model: we can also add a question by select a question model.

(8).Del: Delete a current question.

(9).Question Set: Set the question’s mark, right answer, time limited and so on. Press the

button, open the question set window as below:

A. File default mode and Qu. default mode: Set the default type of the file's activity

mode: 'Normal Quiz', 'Rush Quiz', 'Elimination', 'Vote & Inquiry', 'Grade', 'Hand-raise'

and ’Multi mode'. Choose one from the 7. If 'Multi mode' is selected, the "Qu. default

mode" can be set for each question.

B. Question No.: Display or select a question.

C. Question Title (Grade Object): Input the question title or the brief of question (object

name in Grade mode), the default content is Question number or Grade object number.

D. Mark and Time: input the mark and the time limited of the current question.

E. Answer options setting: Input the choices content. If we edited the file by using Enjoy

software model or have denominated the question title and options, we can use the "Auto

acquire" button to get the content of question title and answer options automatically.

F. Answer Type and Correct answer selection:

For IR117/IR118/RF217/RF218/RF219: set answer type and correct options. If Answer

type is 'A-F Single', only one correct option can be selected; If answer type is '0-100', the

correct option will be selected from "0 to 100". Click "Apply all" button means same setting

for all questions in the paper.

For RF219, Question type can be set as “1/n”, “True/False”, “Yes/No”, “Fill up text”, “Fill

up number”, “Sort order”, “Catalogue”, “2/n”, “3/n”, “4/n”, “?/n”, “Right/Wrong”,

“Vote/Against”, and “Positive/Negative”; The option code can be described as letters

(ABC…) or numbers(123…).

G. Difficulty level: Input the difficulty degree of the question.

H. Rush Quiz set: Input the deduce mark (when the answer is wrong), and the answering

time limited after getting the answering power.

I. Set correct answer: This point is very important. The system can decide who will be

right and who will be wrong only you have set correct answer for questions.

J.Auto built answering histogram on slide: If you select this option, a result chart will be

created on the right down corner of the slide, and some reply information will be appended

to the remark bar of the slide.

K. Exclude give up: set for statistical calculation of proportion, include or exclude the

people who give up reply.

L. Valid Options: Set the valid options for question. The invalid options will not be

received.

M.qu. Advance: set for result interface, include color, font, content and default display

mode.

1.3. Model Design

Good model will bring convenience to question edit, e.g. the instructor may design

different types of models for different use. And the choice has been denominated, we may

use the “Auto acquire” expediently.

(1). Load: Load a PPT model file (*.POT), the default load path is: “ (Installation

Path)\module”.

(2). New: Create a new model file

(3). Save: Save the current model file (*.POT), the default save path is “(Installation

Path)\module”.

(4). Info: Include the quantity of question models, the denomination information of the

choices and question title.

(5). Add: add a question model (a slide)

(6). Del: delete a question model (a slide).

(7). Model Name “modify”: rename the question model.

(8). Denominate options: denominate which one is the Question Title, Which one is

Option A, Option B and so on, If the choice has been denominated, we may use the “Auto

acquire” expediently while setting the questions.

1.4 Setting and Query:

Execute the ENJOY Setting and query soft.

Details see “2 Setting and Query” below.

2. ENJOY Setting and Query

2.1 Setting:

Include “Hardware Test”, “Remote ID Set”, “Data Manage”, “Student Set”, “Teacher Set”,

“Subject Set” and “System Set”. Only the manager has the right to set the information,

and it is password protected. The default password is “88888888”, you can change it in

“System Set”.

Double-click the ENJOY Setting and Query Icon on the desk or press the “Setting and

Query” toolbar in ENJOY Quiz Master, choose “Manager” of user type and input password

in the Log on window, we can start the setting program.

2.1.1 Hardware test

Include audience remote test and teacher remote test.

The software list the detailed steps of testing, follow the guide, the hardware can be

tested.

2.1.2 Remote ID Set

Include audience ID set and extension receiver ID set. The software list the detailed steps

of setting, follow the guide, the ID number can be set.

2.1.3 Data Manage

Include “Data Backup”, “Recover Backup Data” and “Clear Activity Record” which is

password protected. The default password is “12345678”.

2.1.4 Student Set

The managing of class Includes “Import” and “Export” the information of classes (excel file),

“Create” a new class, “Delete” a class and “Rename” a class.

The managing of student includes “Add” a student record (include Student ID, Student

Name and Group No), “Modify” a student’s information, “Del” a student, “Save” and

“Grouping”.

2.1.5 Teacher Set

Include “Add”, ”Modify”, “Delete” and “Save” the teacher information.

2.1.6 Subject Set

Include “Add”,”Modify”, “Delete” and “Save” the subject information.

2.1.7 System Set

1.Modify Password: modify administer log on password and modify data administer

password.

2.Quiz Genius default setting.

3.Quiz Genius music setting: set the music of Enter Activity, Start Answer, Stop Answer,

Accept Command, Warning and Count Down alarm.

2.2 Query

The software offers three ways to query the activity record: query by class, query by

person and query by activity. Choose the Class name, subject, activity time and activities,

then press “Query” button, the report will show in the window. The reports can be printed

and can be exported to html or text file.

2.2.1 Query by class: Include Class grade list, Class answer details, Class roll book and

Class activities summary.

2.2.2 Query by person: Include Student score ledger, Student answer details and Student

roll book.

2.2.3 Query by Activity: Include Question accuracy queue, Multiple-choice queue,

Multiple-choice queue histogram and Grade details.

2.2.4. Others: Include Modify answer and score and Calculate score weighted.

3. Enjoy Exam Paper Editor and Enjoy Standard

Exam

The two programs are used for self-paced formative quiz or survey, i.e. once the teacher

has started the test, the students have the option to answer the questions in order, out of

order, change their mind, and check their answers. This simple interface allows students to

proceed through the exam at their own pace.

The questions need to be written on the blackboard or be printed on paper.

Enjoy Exam paper Editor is used to edit the Formative questions: set score, choice and

the content of questions.

Enjoy Standard Exam is used to gather response information and analyze the data.

3.1 Enjoy Exam Paper Editor

1. Command Buttons: includes paper operating command (Import and Export paper,

create a new paper and save paper), question operating command (add, delete, move up

and move down) and other command (exit, help)

2. Editor Area: You can set score and answer of questions; edit the name and choices of

questions.

3. Display Area: List the information of all questions.

3.2 Enjoy Standard Exam

Starting the program includes 3 steps:

Step 1: System automatically checks the connection of hardware.

If the receiver has not been correctly connected to the computer, or the power is off, or the

other programs (e.g. the Quiz Genius or the Setting and Query) are on running, the system

will prompt wrong massage, it means the self-paced testing function cannot be used.

Step 2: Enter the setting window: setting the following contents:

Select the name of the class, the teacher and the subject.

Select the test paper, the paper type should be “ccv” and the paper format should be up to

the mustard (details see “paper format”), otherwise the system will prompt wrong, if the

format is correct, the total number of the questions and the full marks of the paper will

shown.

Setting test time. The instructor can also adjust it during the exam.

Step 3: Enter answering window.

The answering widow include 3 parts:

1. Command Buttons: Used to control the progress of exam.

Start/Pause: Click the "start" button by mouse or press the instructor remote "start" key) to

begin the exam, the timer will turn green and began to count down. The start button act as

a start/pause transfer timer button, when press again, the timer will turn yellow and stop

counting down. And when the instructor presses again, it will turn green and began to

count down again. We can also press the "up" or "down" key beside the timer (or the

instructor remote "up" and "down" key) to adjust the exam remain time.

Stop: Click the "stop" (by mouse or press the instructor remote "stop" key), the exam is

over, the receiver stop receiving the response information from the student remotes, and

the timer turn red and stop counting down.

Result: Click the "result" (by mouse or press the instructor remote "result" key); the

system will display the option histogram. Press the up or down key to display the option

histogram of the previous or next question. Press "F1" to select whether declares the

correct answer. Press "F2" to view the answering details.

Report: Click the "report" (by mouse or press the instructor remote "report" key); the

system will display the scores list of students.

Help: Display the help document.

Exit: Press "exit" by mouse or press the "power" key of the instructor remote, we will exit

this program. The system will prompt whether save the exam record or not.

2. Answering information bar: Used to display the answering information of the students.

A blue shaded box indicates that the question has been answered. A green ID number is

an indicator that the participant has answered all the questions in the test set.

3. Status bar: Used to show the total number of Questions and the amount of students

finished.

4. Enjoy Quiz Freedom

4.1 Main interface functions:

Run “Quiz freedom”, a floating toolbar will appear on the top layer of screen, its on the

main interface status, shown as following:

4.1.1 Class set The system will ask you to Choose class name, teacher name and subject

name. If the information has not been set before, or we use is casually, we may choose

“Temporary Class”, “Temporary Teacher”, “Temporary Subject”, and input the number of

the Class (do not include the instructor). The ID number and the name of the audience will

be listed on the right side.

You can also select participate mode, do some default set, such as default quiz mode,

score, time limited, valid options, Exclude give up, show quiz window and get short

message.

When complete class set, the system will test connection between PC and Receiver. If the

test fails, error message will appear.

4.1.2 System set: Run Enjoy ARS system setting (same as 2.1 Setting).

4.1.3 Record Query: Run Enjoy ARS record query (same as 2.2 Query).

4.1.4 Help: Open Quiz freedom help file.

4.1.5 Virtual Page Up/Down: In this status, you can simulate “Page Up” and “Page

Down” keys of keyboard by pressing the “Up” and “Down” keys on teacher remoter.

4.1.6 Enter Quiz mode: Click “Power” button, the system will enter quiz mode, shown

as following: (Press “Mode Switch” key on teacher remoter, the system can enter quiz

mode and begin a new quiz at same time, or press “?” key on teacher remoter, the system

can begin a new feedback at same time.)

4.2 Quiz mode functions:

In quiz mode status, there are question no, answered persons, quiz mode, question type,

timer, and control button on floating toolbar.

Click control button, a control menu will pop up, shown as right:

4.2.1 ID box set: Set ID box display mode, switch time, and open or close short

message window.

4.2.2 New Quiz: Click “New Quiz” menu or press “Mode Switch” key

on teacher remoter, a new quiz will be created. If the default set is

“show quiz set window”, a setting window for new quiz will display.

You can set quiz mode (question type), score, time limited and so on.

Other wise, no setting window will display, the quiz will start to reply

directly.

4.2.3 New Feedback(for IR117/118/RF217/RF218): Click “New

Feedback” menu or press “?” key on teacher remoter, a new

Feedback will be created. If the default set is “show quiz set window”, a setting window

for new feedback will display. You can set feedback type, time limited and so on. Other

wise, no setting window will display, the feedback will start to reply directly.

4.2.4 Control quiz process: You can control the quiz process by mouse or teacher

remoter. You can start/pause or stop reply, view the answering result/detail of previous

or next quiz, view the top table and so on. All process is same as “Quiz Master”.

4.2.5 Set Correct answer: Because there is no question editor in “Quiz freedom”, you

have to set correct answer after the question have answered. You can set correct answer

when viewing answering result.

4.2.6 Capture function: When viewing answering result, detail or top table, you can click

“Capture” button, then select a rectangle area. The rectangle will be saved to system

clipboard as a picture. By using “Paste” function, you can save answering chart to your

document easily.

Part 4. Note

1. For RF219/RF218/RF217, the receiver can’t be covered by metal; keep far away from

strong electric field and magnetic field; keep far away from strong 2.4G RF signal.

2. For IR118 & IR117, the receiver can’t work in sunlight; keep far away from strong

infrared ray signal; keep the cover clear.

3. Avoid irradiation of teacher remoter Laser to eyes.

4. The receiver can’t be connected to two or more than two programs such as “Quiz

Master”, “Setting and Query”, “Standard Exam” or “Quiz Freedom” at same time.
