REVIVAL NEWS IN LOVING MEMORY

David Robert Lee

Beaver Fourkiller Ramey

Evangelist Dee Ann Beaver March 23, 1942-November 16, 2009

It is with much sadness that we report to

you the passing of Dee Ann Beaver. Dee

was a vital part of Unity In Jesus Ministries.

It was Dee who many years ago as she

and David were at bible college prayed

about whether they were to go to another

year of classes at Rhema or launch out into

full time ministry.

God’s word for them was to go and take

the message of “Unity In Jesus” to the Na-

tive Americans across our country.

David had tried unsuccessfully for the

last year to convince Dee to go home and

take some much needed time with the

children and grandchildren. Her response

was always the same, “ My place is with you

in ministry.”

A memorial service was held at Navajo

Mission Life Center. Pastor Joe Grizzle of

Cross Point Church presided over the

graveside service in Noble, OK

A very special thank you to Ray Powell

and Christ For All Nations for the use of the

van to return Dee home to Oklahoma.

We also recognize the Cherokee Nation

Emergency Medical Service’s and all those

friends and family who contributed during

this great time of loss. Pray for David.

Pastor Robert Fourkiller of Sequoyah

Baptist Church in Stilwell, OK invited Unity

In Jesus Evangelists David Beaver and Lee

Ramey to provide special music for the Sunday

morning service on November 22, 2009.

After the service the congregation members

and visitors gathered in the fellowship hall for

some home cooked food and fellowship.

Many of David Beavers friends and family

were in attendance at the service.

A HERO COMES HOME

For the last 8 months anxious family and

friends had been praying for the safe return

of Lance Corporal Darvin Chavez.

After graduating from Kirkland High

School in 2006, Darvin then attended one

year at San Juan College in Farmington, NM.

He decided in December of 2007 to join the

United States Marine Corps.

After his basic training Darvin joined the

1st Battalion, 5th Marine Division and was

deployed to the Helmand Province, Nawa

Dist. in Afghanistan. He participated in the

largest Hilo operation since the Vietnam

War. Ten of his fellow soldiers lost their lives

in combat operations.

Day Mesa Church conducted a largely

attended welcome home celebration for

Lance Corporal Chavez on December 26.

The Patriot Guard Organization which is

made up of Vietnam Veterans and led by

Frank Lewis, Sr. Ride Captain, escorted the

hero on motorcycles while presenting the

colors From Red Mesa Store to Day Mesa

Church.

Counselor Chapter President Sam Sage

was the first to welcome Darvin and give

thanks to him for keeping our country safe.

T.C. TSO, the Executive Assistance. of

the Navajo Nation, Window Rock, Arizona,

presented a plaque to Darvin for his heroism

and service to our country.

Mr. TSO told the gathering that 9 Navajo

Nations young men did not make it home.

He stated that Darvins family was doing

the right thing by praying and keeping his

life as a soldier lifted up before God.

Darvin thanked everyone for coming out

and stated “I know that the prayers of my

family and church family kept me safe while

in the conflict.”

A wonderful meal had been prepared

and while everyone sat down to fellowship

Pastor Wesley Castillo offered the blessing

over the food. Unity in Jesus provided gospel

music as they ate. Please continue to pray for

Darvin, he will soon be going back to his unit.

In all probability his unit will be sent back

to Afghanistan.

Doctrine Reproof

Correction Instruction

Ephesians 4:11-13 ..And he gave some, apos-

tles; and some, prophets; and some, evangel-

ists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the

perfecting of the saints, for the work of the

ministry….

Jesus taught us that there are two paths

which we can follow in this life. One path was

broad and he said many would travel that

path which would lead to destruction.

He also told us there was a narrow path

which only a few would find which would

lead to eternal life with him.

This path that Jesus spoke of is known as the

Path Of Righteousness In 2 Timothy 3:16-17

we read “All Scripture is given by inspiration

of God and is profitable for Doctrine, for Re-

proof, for Correction, and for Instruction in

Righteousness.”

DOCTRINE: a rule or principal that forms the

basis of a belief. Doctrine shows us what the

path of righteousness is and how to walk on it.

REPROOF: shows us where we get off the path.

CORRECTION: tells us how to get back on the

path of righteousness.

INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS: tells

us how to stay on the path.

As a missionary or evangelist many times

we are called to a place of ministry which

does not afford us frequent visit’s home. If

we are blessed, we may make it home once

each year.

Our families call and we stay in contact

but it is really not the same as when we do

get to go home and relax and not be busy

with ministry. We so appreciate our families

for understanding the call God has placed

on our lives.

Recently Evangelist David Beaver got to

go home and spend some much needed time

with his loved ones. He got to spend time

with his sons, daughters, grandchildren and

even got to meet and hold his first great

grandchild.

On Thanksgiving Day, David spent time

with his brothers, sisters, and all the nieces

and nephews he had not seen in quite some

time. It is our prayer that God will bless our

families and keep them safe in the coming

New Year as we return to the work of the

ministry that God has called us to do.

VETERANS DAY

MEMORIAL SERVICE

LYBROOK COMMUNITY

MINISTRIES

During the 1960’s the work of the mission

included providing education, medical care,

alcohol rehabilitation, youth services as well as

sowing and wood working classes for the Na-

vajo families in the surrounding communities.

The work has in the last few years saw its

funds and support from the denomination

slow. So a new effort and vision for the future

has been started. The work has just recently

been Incorporated as Lybrook Community

Ministries.

It’s new mission is “ to develop and support

Christ-centered community ministries in the

Lybrook area that are life sustaining and will

encourage persons to encounter the

Redeeming Love of God.”

As with many missionary’s, the Huber’s left

behind retirement, children, and grandchildren

to come to the Navajo Nation to serve the Lord.

It has been the pleasure of Unity In Jesus

Ministries to work with Maria and Dave Huber

during the last year. We thank God for your

friendship and your faithfulness to the work of

the Lord and to the Navajo Nation.

In July of this coming year the Huber’s will

return to their life in Indiana to a loving family

who has supported them during their absence.

We hope to make friends and assist in any

way possible those who will come after you, but

you will be loved, missed and remembered.

On November 8, 2009, Pastor Tom

Guerito and Living Springs Baptist Church

held its 5th Annual Veterans Day Service

and Memorial which honors all veterans.

Unity In Jesus provided special music

for the event and David Beaver spoke

briefly about David as a soldier triumphing

over Goliath. .

The posting of the flags ceremony was

done by the Olson Juan Veterans. The Blue

and Gold Star Mothers were recognized as

well as the mothers of current service men

and women. All veterans were given a gift

by the church. The Opening and Refolding

of the Flags Ceremony honored those who

had given their lives for our country.

Billie Lewis Guerito pictured above was

memorialized for his participation in the

Third Division Navajo Marine Corps. He

served as a Navajo Code Talker. He par-

ticipated in the battles of Bougainville, Iwo

Jima, Guam, and Volcano & Marine Island.

The work of the

Church of the

Brethren Mission

began back in

1952.

Maria and Dave

Huber have been

serving as the

Volunteer

Directors.

CHRISTMAS

A TIME OF GIVING

Since the time God gave us the ultimate gift

of his son Jesus some two thousand years ago,

giving has been an important part of the

Christmas celebration.

KOAT News 7 from Albuquerque, NM has

networked with the National Guard and other

organizations to collect and distribute new

and slightly used coats to those in need.

According to Larry Kellogg the director of

the program they have collected and distrib-

uted about 10,000 coats each year for the last

few years.

Faye and James Ridinger of Navajo Mission

Life Center and Lee Ramey and David Beaver

of Unity In Jesus Ministries teamed up with

the NM National Guard and KOAT News 7 to

distribute two hundred coats to the children of

OJO Encino Elementary School. The National

Guard also distributed 300 more coats at the

OJO Encino Chapter House.

In addition Navajo Mission Life Center

was able to provide gifts of toys and various

school supplies for every child. These gifts

were sent by Crossroads Christian Church

in Painsville, Ohio.

Christ For All Nations in Lybrook, NM

provided food baskets to many families for

Christmas. Each family received a ham and

fixings for a complete Christmas Dinner.

Helping Hands Of Dallas Texas also pro-

vided many families with gifts and aid dur-

ing the holidays. A very special thanks goes

out to Ray Powell, Daniel & Tracy Spitler,

and KOAT News 7 on behalf of the people

of the Navajo Nation. There is nothing like

looking into the eyes of a child and seeing

them smile when they receive a gift for

Christmas. To everyone who donated coats

and gifts we pray God’s richest blessing for

the New Year.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

In this country we take many things for

granted. What would you do if you had no

electricity, running water, and had dirt

floors to walk on. Could you survive winter

where the temperature gets down to zero

and below huddled around a small wood-

stove. Could you survive in a house that

was so cold that you kept your coats on

except when going to bed..

Dave Huber of Lybrook Community

Ministries gave me some demographic sta-

tistics for the area that we serve.. Fifty per-

cent of the people in this area live in the

conditions described above. Now consider

that many of this 50% have school age chil-

dren or younger. This is unfortunately the

conditions that many Native Americans live

in across this country.

Imagine having to carry water in two

five gallon cans for seven miles just to have

water.

She is a Navajo and about 8 years ago

she was bit by a tick and contracted Lyme

Disease. Left untreated it created problems

in her nervous system and her mental

health began failing.

He is Pawnee and is a hard worker and

very resourceful. The tires you see border-

ing the shed they live in he collected and

filled with sand to act as a wind break. He

has to stay home with his wife and cant

work because of her mental condition.

The doctors told him to institutionalize her.

On Christmas Eve the Lord spoke to our

hearts to pay a visit to our friends. We took

food for several days, wood, coats along with

some gifts of blankets, several pairs of sox, hats

and gloves. They asked us “ How did you know

we needed gloves, we have been praying for

gloves....We cried and prayed with them and

told them ….THE LORD KNOWS……
