On-Site Check-In and Walk-In Registration Each person participating in Fire College activities must check in at the registration desk at the Assembly Hall, with their photo ID, to pick up their registration , attendance tickets, and class assignments. If you have not registered in advance, you may register on-site at Fire College registration desk, but your class selection may be limited to open enrollment classes.

• All check-in and walk-in registration takes place at the west entrance at the Assembly Hall (entrance between the ticket offices).
• You must show a photo ID at the registration desk in order to receive your registration tickets.
• No pick up of multiple registrations by one person will be allowed.
• Registration identification will be provided to each individual. • Failure to check in at the registration desk will prevent you from
participating. • All classes not filled in pre-registration will be filled at walk-in
registration on a first-come/first-served basis.
Each registration form must include the following signatures: • Department Chief or Training Officer signature, which
1. authorizes student participation, 2. acknowledges billing policy, 3. permits use of department equipment, and 4. acknowledges their firefighter is covered under Worker's Comp Insurance.

General Enrollment and Attendance Policy • All registration forms and online registrations will be date and
time-stamped upon receipt by IFSI. • All classes will be filled according to the date and time registra
tion is received. • Some classes may have prerequisites attached. • There will be no changing classes once you are enrolled in a
class.
Attendance Tickets When you check in at the registration desk, you will receive your "Attendance Ticket. " The "Attendance Ticket" has your name, class assignment(s) , registration information, and bar coded stubs, which will be collected every 4-hour block of class time. This is our only means of verifying your attendance. 2
Limited Enrollment Classes • All classes will be filled based on the date and time that regis-
tration is received. • Enrollment is on a first-come/first-served basis. • Class assignment will be placed on attendance tickets. • NO walk-in participation will be allowed in limited enrollment
classes. If you are not on the class roster at the beginning of the class, you will not be admitted.
Fire College On-Site Registration Fees 12-Hour class: $100.00 12-Hour hands-on class: $150.00 24-Hour class: $150.00 24-Hour hands-on class: $250
Payment of Fees All registrations will be invoiced upon completion of Fire College. Do not include payment with registration form . Check appropriate box on registration form to indicate if department or student is to be billed. Students will be required to sign a statement acknowledging billing policy. If no box is marked, the fire department will be billed.
Substitutions Substitutions can be made in writing or at the on-site registration desk. You must provide IFSI with the name of the student to be replaced and the name of the substitute. The substitute is required to complete a new registration form signed by the fire department chief or training officer. The new form can be presented at the registration desk.
Certificates A maximum of 24 hours of instruction is available to each firefighter during Fire College. To receive a certificate, you must attend the entire class( es) in which you are enrolled.
EMS Continuing Education Units (CEUs) Illinois Fire Service Institute has applied to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) for EMS CEUs in selected classes. Classes awarded EMS CE Us will be identified at the start of Fire College. If awarded, EMS CEU Certificates will be issued along with attendance certificates. See class descriptions to identify selected classes.
Per Section 515.590 (2) (A), 77 ILL. Adm. Code 515, states: "One hundred twenty hours of continuing education , seminars and workshops, addressing both adult and pediatric care. The System shall define in the Program Plan the number of continuing education hours to be accrued each year for relicensure. No more than 25 percent of those hours may be in the same subject."
Parking You may park for free in the Southwest and Northwest lots of the Assembly Hall. Shuttle bus service will be provided. Follow instructions and signs for shuttle service to your class. 3

Students must submit a copy of their certificate to the Division of Personnel Standards and Education , or retain in their training file , whichever is appropriate , to receive credit for the class . Concession Stand at IFSI Training Center For your convenience, concession stands are available Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the IFSI Training Grounds. Sandwiches, chips, drinks, etc. will be available for purchase. Plan on having $6.00 to $10 .00 on hand for lunches.
~ Use of alcohol o, medications at the Annual ~ Illinois Fire College: Students that are under the influence of intoxicating substances, appear to
be intoxicated, or appear to be recovering from intoxication to an extent that the instructor feels they are a danger to themselves or others will be removed from the class and dismissed from the Fire College with no eligibility for refund or reduced billing. In ALL cases, the student's fire department Chief will be notified immediately by telephone and then in writing about the poor representation and conduct of their members. While camaraderie is part of the event, our primary DUTY is to be alert and to learn to better protect our communities. I THANK YOU for your help in promoting a positive learning environmentfor all in attendance at the oldest annual fire school in the nation.

Participation Policies and Requirements
Protective Clothing & Equipment Policy You must bring personal protective clothing for use in classes where designated. Protective clothing and equipment will permit full participation in the evolutions. Check class descriptions for protective clothing and equipment requirements. No loaner personal protective clothing will be provided.
SCBAPolicy • SCBAs must be NFPA compliant and in working order. • SCBA bottles must have a current hydro-static test date. • No non-current hydro-static dated bottles will be allowed in class. • Students must have their own equipment. NO SHARING ALLOWED. • Loaner Protective Clothing or SCBA WILL NOT BE available. • IFSI WILL NOT provide repair services for SCBAs.
Facial Hair Restrictions Any facial hair that crosses the jaw line is not permitted in live-fire training or toxic area where breathing apparatus may be utilized.
Age Requirement You must be 18 years or older to register for hands-on training at Fire College. Any classroom classes are open to all fire personnel , regardless of age.

THINK AND PLAN AHEAD Plan your transportation carefully. University of Illinois students and staff will also be using the bus system and buses will fill for each route.
If you receive a parking ticket for parking outside of the Northwest and Southwest Assembly Hall parking lots, you will not be reimbursed for parking or fines. The University is aggressive in parking enforcement and parking spaces near Altgeld Hall and Everitt Lab are limited.

The new LP burn prop showcases how to extinguish fires from residential and agricultural propane tanks. Demonstrations are made possible through a grant from the Illinois Propane Education and Research Council (IPERC).
The Open House includes a Live Line Demostration , safety demonstrations for outdoor gas grills, as well as tours of IFSI training grounds.

Plan your transportation carefully. University of Illinois students and staff will also be using the bus system and buses will fill for each route.
If you receive a parking ticket for parking outside of the Northwest and Southwest Assembly Hall parking lots, you will not be reimbursed for parking or fines. The University is aggressive in parking enforcement and parking spaces near Altgeld Hall and Everitt Lab are limited.
