Unleash Your Inner Socialite Tables of Eight Coordinator Needed

Ann Cochran is ready to give up her party-planning duties and train her replacement. Think of the power of determining who dines with whom. The joy that comes from matchmaking. This is an ideal job for someone who wants to have an impact on church life but who does not want to go to a bunch of meetings. In fact, there are NO meetings. There are opportunities to confab with your co-leader, Regula Guess, about how to organize the tables. Familiarity with Excel is a plus, but not a requirement. This job is calling your name. To learn more, contact Ann at 301-229-2114 or [email protected]

Thanks for the Help A Note on behalf of Community Council for the Homeless at Friendship Place

Thank you so much for the soups, women's toiletry kits and bags of trail mix. These items go a long way in helping to make our homeless neighbors feel cared for. Thanks to you, our Welcome Center now serves more than 300 people a year! --Leigh Rollins

Lenten Sunday Night Services a Success

Many thanks to those who conceived of and to those who participated in this new Lenten series and to the Circles that supported it by providing refreshments and greeters. The services were a resounding success, typically attracting between 40 and 80 worshipers to engage in an observance featuring music, contemplation and communion. The services also collected generous offerings, which will be donated to Courtney’s House, an organization that provides support and counseling for victims of sex trafficking. (Next month, we’ll report the final amount contributed.)
