Picture 1- Abstract

• Long shot, furniture is set up to look like a face. The sofa is a pair of lips, the table is a nose and the pictures are eyes.

• I chose this picture because I find it very clever and creative. The lighting also makes it look like a relaxed, easy-going environment.

Picture 2- Photojournalism

• This is a medium shot showing an ex-soldier from WW2 who lost both of his arms.

• The technology allows him to do everyday jobs such as answering a phone.

• I found this fascinating as it shows there is hope for those who have lost limbs and that this can only improve over time.

Picture 3- Wildlife

• This is a long shot showing a snow leopard in its mountainous habitat.

• I am a great fan of cats, and this very first picture of a snow leopard amazed many people.

Photographer- Dr. George B. Schaller

Picture 4- Architecture

• This image is an aerial/high angle shot of an endless spiralling staircase.

• I like the image because of the sheer height of the staircase, it makes me think that the building these stairs are in is an endless adventure.

Picture 5- Sports

• This shot is an establishing/extreme long shot of the Tour de France cyclists in the 1960s.

• I like the muted tone of colour and it reminds me of a historic time period. The multitude of cyclists present here shows teamwork, cooperation and sportsmanship.
