Research I did quite a lot of research on

photographers including mind maps about different types of photography, a moodboard of landscape and portrait photos and power points on different photographers.

For the research on photographers I did a series of power points on different photographers. I did research on Ansel Adams, Andrew Brooks, Carr Clifton, Emilie Bailey, Michael Robert Williams and Nick Pickles.

I also had to do a word document about the different terminology's of photography. I had to write a definition of a certain term e.g. shutter speed and give examples of photos that have used shutter speed.

I then had to a small task based on Andy Warhol's art. I had to do some research on him and do an Andy Warhol type picture myself on Photoshop.

I also had to do small light paint task and understand how light paint photos work.

Salford Quays Task Our main task was to go and take a lot

of pictures around the Salford Quays area and we would eventually manipulate them in Photoshop

These are the images I edited.

Page 13: Unit 57 evaluation

What went well – I think this is quite a good effect and makes the picture look quite dramatic.

What I would change – I would probably make it a little bit less dark as the bottom part of the photo isn’t very visible.

Page 14: Unit 57 evaluation

What went well – It makes Salford looks nice and clean. It makes the weather look nice.

What I would change – There isn’t much in the photo and all the scenery is too far away really.

Page 15: Unit 57 evaluation

What went well – The colours compliment each other well and the colours represent the two football teams in Manchester.

What I would change – maybe have less colour in it as just looks really unrealistic.

Page 16: Unit 57 evaluation

What went well – I think the effect makes it look very nostalgic and vintage effect.

What I would change – The canal at the bottom is white so it is difficult to tell where the photo ends so I would change the colour of that.

Page 17: Unit 57 evaluation

What went well – The effect emphasises the actual buildings with outline around them.

What I would change – The effect makes it look like an animated picture rather than a photo so I would have less effect on it.

Page 18: Unit 57 evaluation

What went well – The black and white makes the image more dramatic and interesting.

What I would change – Like one of the earlier images the white at the top makes it difficult to tell where the end is.

Page 19: Unit 57 evaluation

What went well – The photo was originally taken in the daylight but the editing makes it look like it is night time and all the things in the area seem brighter.

What I would change – The cropping of he image was really poor and it looks very slanted.

Page 20: Unit 57 evaluation

What went well – I really like the effect on this photo with the black and white go in to the normal colour.

What I would change – I wouldn’t change anything on this, it is my favourite photo I edited.

Page 21: Unit 57 evaluation

What went well – I think the effect makes it look lighter outside and more cheery and also keeps the reality of the area and isn’t too out of place.

What I would change – The cropping at the bottom isn’t very straight and could be improved.

Page 22: Unit 57 evaluation

What went well – I think the black and white effect makes the photo look quite dramatic.

What I would change – I would probably re take the actual photo as there is quite a big reflection off the building which I think ruins it a bit.
