What is personality

• Personality is a pattern of relatively permanent traits and unique characteristics that give both consistency and individuality to a person's behavior."(Feist and Feist, 2009)

• Personality refers to individuals' characteristic patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior, together with the psychological mechanisms -- hidden or not -- behind those patterns

• The psychological qualities that influences an individual’s characteristic behavior patterns, in a stable and distinctive manner (Huc & Buc, 2013)

• Personality, in individuals and in the field of psychology that studies it, is always in a state of evolution (Pervin, 1993)
