    3 GETTING STARTED

    3.1. Insert SIM card

    The irisX5 isaDual SIMmobilephoneallowing you touse the

    facilityof

    two

    networks.

    To

    insert

    SIM

    card(s):

    Switch off the mobile phone and remove the rear cover and

    battery.

    InserttheSIMcardcorrectlyinthecardslot(s).

    InsertSIMcardcarefully!

    Finallyinsert

    the

    battery

    and

    replace

    the

    rear

    cover

    of

    the

    mobilephone.

    3.2. Insert Memory cardTheirisX5allowsyoutoexpandexternalmemorywithamicroSD

    card,upto32GB.

    Poweroffthemobilephone,andthenremovetherearcoverand

    battery.

    Insertthememorycardintotheslot.

    Finallyinsertthebatteryandtherearcoverofthemobilephone.

    Useonlycompatiblememorycardsapprovedbywiththisdevice.

    Incompatible memory cards may damage the card or the device will

    corruptthedatastoredinthecard.

    3.3. Unlock the Phone

    You may need to provide PIN, Password, or draw a pattern to

    unlockyourphone.

    Tounlockthescreen:

    Holdanddragtheunlockicontotherighttounlock.

    Touch: Acts on items on the screen, such as application and

    settings icons, to type letters and symbols using the onscreen

    keyboard,ortopressonscreenbuttons.

    Touchandhold:Touchandholdan itemon the screenuntilan

    actionoccurs.

    Drag:Touchandholdanitemandmoveyourfingeronthescreen

    until

    you

    reach

    the

    target

    position.

    can also doubletap to control t zoom, in Maps, and in otherapplications.

    Pinch: Insomeapplications(SuchasMaps,Browser,andGallery)

    youcanzoom inandoutbyplacingtwo fingersonthescreenat

    onceandpinchingthemtogether(tozoomout)orspreadingthem

    apart(tozoomin).

    Rotatethescreen:Onmostscreens,theorientationofthescreen

    changesas

    you

    rotate

    it.

    You

    can

    turn

    this

    feature

    on

    and

    off.

    3.6. Context Menus

    You can open context menu by touching key. Not all

    screenshavecontextmenus.Ifyoutouch keyinsideapplication

    thathasnocontextmenu,nothinghappens.

    3.7. Options menus

    Optionsmenus contain tools thatapply to specific itemson the

    screen.Youcanopenanoptionbytouchingandholdinganitemonthe

    screen.Notallitemshaveoptionsmenus.

    When you touch and hold some items on a screen, an Options

    menuopens.

    4 PLACING AND RECEIVING CALLS

    You can dial a phone number or touch a number in your

    contacts.Youcanalsoplacefromthecalllogorcontacts.

    4.1. Make a Call

    Tapthe icononmainmenuorthehomescreentodialthe

    desirednumber.

    Touchthe icononmainmenuorthehomescreentomakea

    callfromcontact,groupsorfavorites.

    Todialaninternationalnumber,touchandholdthe0keytoenter

    the Plus (+) symbol, and then enter the international country

    prefix,followedbythephonenumber

    Touchthe or icontocallwithSIM1orSIM2.

    PresstheVolumeUp/Downkeystoadjustthecallvolume.

    YoucanaccessCallLogs,Contactsfromthedialerscreen.

    Whileduring

    acall,

    touch

    the

    icon

    to

    end

    acall.

    4.2. Disable Phone Calls (Airplane mode)

    Some locations likeairplanesmayrequireyou to turnoffyourmobile,

    WiFi,andBluetoothwirelessconnections.

    PressandholdthePowerbutton.

    5 THE HOME SCREEN

    Whenyousignin,thehomescreenopens.

    TheHomescreenisyourstartingpointtoaccessallthefeaturesonyour

    phone.Touchthemainmenuiconatthebottomofthescreentoview

    allinstalledapplications.

    Touch and hold an empty spot to change

    wallpaper.

    Touch an icon to launch the

    corresponding application; bottom icons

    are accessible from all desktop screens.

    Touch and hold to move or remove an iconor a widget.

    The status bar shows the time, signal strength,

    battery status, and notification.

    o Gallery: Choose from pictures that youve taken with

    o LiveWallpaper:Choosefromascrolling listofanimated

    wallpapers.Even you can choosea video file from your

    VideoWallpaperfolder.

    o Wallpaper:Choosefromthumbnailsofdefaultimages.

    For set wallpaper, touch SET WALLPAPER at the top of the

    screen(forGalleryimages)orsetwallpaper.

    Folders:You

    can

    very

    easily

    regroup

    desktop

    icons

    in

    afolder

    on

    screen

    tosavespaceandaccessmoreapplications.

    Touchandholdanyiconondesktopscreentomoveit.

    Go on another iconand release to create a folder containing

    bothicons.

    Then add as many icons as folder can hold, give it a name,

    moveitwhereyouwant.

    YouhaveallthetoolstocustomizeyouririsX5SmartPhone.

    6 MANAGING NOTIFICATIONS

    Notificationiconsinformyouofnewmessagesandevents.When

    youreceiveanotification,itsiconappearsinthestatusbar,alongwitha

    summarythatappearsonlybriefly.

    6.1. Open the Notifications Panel

    Drag the status bar down from the top of the screen as shown

    below:

    The Notficatons panel displays your network provider name and

    a list of your current notficatons.

    6.2. Respond to Notifications

    Open the notficaton panel and touch a notficaton to respond to

    it. What happens next depends on the notficaton.

    6.3. Close Notifications Panel

    Drag the tab at the boom of the Notficatons panel to the top of

    the screen. Or just press the back buon. The panel also closes when

    you touch a notficaton to respond to it.

    You can use Messaging to exchange text messages and multmedia

    messages with your friends.

    Your cameras pictures and videos are stored in both the SD card

    and device. You can copy pictures and videos from both the SD card anddevice to a PC and vice versa.

    Touch an album to open and view its contents.

    Your phone can connect to a variety of networks and devices,

    includingWiFi,GPRS,Bluetoothdevices,suchasheadsets.Youcanalso

    transferfiles

    to/from

    your

    PC

    through

    the

    data

    cable.

    9.1. Transfer data between Phone and PC :

    ConnectthephonetoyourPCwiththehelpofUSBcable.

    USBmassstoragewindowwithoptiontoturnonUSBstoragewill

    be shown.

    Touch"Turn

    storage".

    You can now exchange/manage data

    betweenyourphoneandPC.

    Once finished, click again (Turn off USB

    storage) to unmount storage from

    9.3. Connect to Wi Fi Networks

    TobrowsetheInternetviaWiFi:

    Go toMenu>settings>Underwireless&networkstabselect

    WiFi and then turn it ON, select the WIFI connection listed under

    WiFinetworkswithwhichyouwanttoconnect>Enterthepassword

    of

    Wi

    fi

    network

    with

    which

    you

    want

    to

    connect.

    Note:MakesurethatWiFinetworkwithwhichyouwanttoconnect

    isintherangeandisactive.

    9.4. Pair With Bluetooth Devices

    GotoSettings>Wireless&networks>Bluetoothsettings.

    If Bluetooth is off, check Bluetooth to turn it on.Yourphone

    scansanddisplaystheBluetoothdevicesinrange.

    pair

    discoverable.

    If your phone stops scanning before you make the other device

    discoverable,touchScanfordevices.

    phone

    Note: In case you are unable to connect to internet please get in

    touchwithcustomercareexecutive.

    Go to Settings> Wireless & Networks>More >Tethering &

    portablehotspot>TurnONWiFiHotspot.
