POSITIVE BEHAVIOURS FOR LEARNING - PBL Our Core Values across the school are to promote the school community to be SAFE, SUPPORTIVE and RESPECTFUL.

UPS Spelling BeeCongratulations to all the students who competed in the Ulmarra Public School Spelling Bee. It was a tight competition with some very challenging words. Even some of our students in stage 1 got up and had a go, what a fantastic attitude to learning.

Congratulations to our Stage 2 Winner Gretel and Run-ner-up Lily

Congratulation to our Stage 3 Winner Flynn and Run-ner-up Talia

River to Sea Transition ProgramThe River to Sea Transition Program will run in Term 4 on a Tuesday this year. This is a fantastic program which helps your child prepare for the routines and structure of Kindergarten. If your child will be starting Kindergar-ten in 2021 at Ulmarra Public School or you know a fam-ily that has a child that will starting, please drop into our front office for an enrolment form or contact the office for more information. More information will go out at the start of Term 3. We look forward to meeting our new Transition Students.

Changes to Year 5 Opportunity Placement Changes to the opportunity class placement process for 2020 Year 4 students

The 2021 Year 5 opportunity class placement process was put on hold in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 sit-uation.

We now have a revised and simplified timeline for the OC placement process to ensure that students and families can have certainty about their placement as soon as possible.

The changes include:

• A new date for online applications. Parents must apply between 9 June 2020 and 26 June 2020. Late applications cannot be accepted.

• A new test date - Wednesday 16 September 2020.

To ensure fair and consistent assessment of students across New South Wales, students will be offered plac-es based only on their test results this year – there will be no school assessment scores.

There will also be no opportunity for appeals given the tight timeframes.

For further detailed information I encourage you to visit (https://education.nsw.gov.au/public-schools/selec-tive-high-schools-and-opportunity-classes/year-5

Aboriginal SignageThe new Aboriginal Signage has now been put in place around our schoool.

Early Pick-up ProcedureTo help things run smoothly and stay within the Covid-19 Guidelines please ring the school ahead of time if you need to pick your child up early. This will give us time to get the student from class and get their things together to meet you in the front office. Thank you for your pa-tience and understanding, as these guidelines are for everyone’s safety.
