    eight(87.5%)oftheworkshopparticipantsansweredthattheycouldseethemselvesusingWikisintheirclassroom.

    TheonlyrevisionIwouldmakeinthefutureistomakesureIcouldbetteridentifytheparticipantscurrentlyusingWikisand

    howtheywereusingthempriortotheworkshop,sothatIcouldbetterjudgetheincreasedinterestandmotivationtouseWikis

    aftertheworkshop.IthinkIwouldemailthisquestionouttoalltheparticipantsbeforetheworkshopsotheywouldhavemore

    wouldreflectandgivememoresuggestions.Iwouldalsomakesuretheparticipantsunderstoodtheimportanceofmaking

    suggestionsandhowIcouldutilizethemtomakeimprovementstotheworkshop.Iwouldalsoincludeapromptforadditional

    WorkshopSelf-evaluation:

    Ingeneral,Iamverypleasedwiththeworkshop.Itwasreceivedwellandtheparticipantswerevery

    involved.Ihavebeentomanyprofessionalworkshopswheretheparticipantsseemtobewatchingtheclockandwaitingforthe

    workshoptoend.Tomygreatrelief,theparticipantswereinterested,motivatedandwereeagertoshareideasandlearn.

    Ididagreatdealofresearchandplanningfortheworkshop.Thisdefinitelypaidoff,sinceIfeltverysecureinmy

    knowledgeofthematerialandwasabletoanswerparticipantquestionswithconfidence.Itwassurprisinghowharditwastokeep

    theworkshoptoareasonablelengthandstillallowtimeforinteractionbetweentheparticipants.Mygoalwastonotonlypresent

    theinformation,buttoallowthemthetimetoexplorethematerialandshareideas.Ifelttheworkshopwouldnotbesuccessfulif

    theparticipantsdidnotengagewithotherandsharelessonplanningideasandpastexperiencesusingWikisandWeb2.0

    applications.

    Thepresentationhadafewhiccups,whichsurprisinglyworkedtoincreasetheinvolvementandcontributionbythe

    participantstotheoverallworkshop.IwasunabletoplaythetutorialsforVoki,GoAnimateandWikispacesthatIhad

    embeddedintomyPowerPointpresentation.TheCobbCountySchoolsITdepartmentblockedaccess.Ithenhadtowork

    withtheparticipantstodescribeanddemonstrateVoki,GoAnimateandhowtosetupaWikispacesaccount.Workingtogetherwe

    wereabletodisplayonlaptopsaparticipantspersonalVokiandIwasabletoshowmyGoAnimate.Thisactuallyendingupbeing

    fun,andtheparticipantswereexcitedtoshareideasandpersonalexperiences.Goingforward,Ihavelearnedthehardlessonthat

    thetechnologyinyourpresentationhastobesupportedbythetechnologyatthesiteoftheworkshop.Thiswasamistakeonmy

    part,butalsoavaluablelearningexperienceforthefuture.Ihavesincelearnedhowtodisplaythesetutorialsandvideosinmy

    presentation.

    Idefinedthesuccessoftheworkshopbythefollowingfactors:thetechnologyspecialistformyschoolhasaskedmeto

    sharethesetypesofideasandworkshopswithourstaffatBullardElementaryschoolandtheotherworkshopparticipantswere

    genuinelyexcitedatthepossibilitiesofusingtheseinstructionaltools.Iameagertosharemyknowledgewithother

    teachersandlookforwardtomynextopportunity.
