For the Congress, UNIMA Indonesia will provide:

For the World Puppetry Festival, UNIMA Indonesia will invite local Indonesian troupes as well as international troupes from China, Japan, India, Iran, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea and Thailand. UNIMA Indonesia will provide the following:

FESTIVALINTRODUCTION
Audiences of the World Puppetry Festival will include UNIMA members and their friends who are interested in the puppets arts.
The World Puppetry Festival should include puppet performances from all regions of the world.
As in the past, the country in which a UNIMA Congress and World PuppetryFestival is held has the opportunity to showcase the puppetry from its owncountry as well as from the wider geographical region.
BALI
Foreign visitors (UNIMA members and theirfriends) as well as the local Balinese will behighly interested in seeing the local Balinesewayang. There is a rich variety of Balinesewayang, culturally rich and veryentertaining.
The Festival’s Opening Ceremony will becentrally held at Astina Square. Hosted by IMade Sidia from Sanggar Paripurna ofGiangyar Regency, the Opening Ceremonywill showcase Balinese wayang, introducing ayoung Balinese dalang / puppeteer andconcluding with Wayang Kulit masterdalang, Cenk Blonk.
Besides Balinese wayang / puppet theatre,the evening performance will showcase thefollowing Balinese dances: Barong,Tambulilingan, Baris, Manuk Rawa, Kecak.

• Wayang Kulit shadow puppetry of
Centra Java with excerpts from the
plays Kresna Duta, Lahire Wisanggeni, and Sesaji Raja Suya will be performed
by a young dalang.
WEST JAVA
• Wayang Golek the renowned rod
puppetry of West Java with excerpts
from The Abduction of Shinta and
Dasamuka Gugurnya, will be
performed by a young dalang.

• In addition to the wayang
tradition, the World Puppetry
Festival will also highlight
examples of traditional and
modern puppetry from the South-

culture highlighted with hundreds of floats, dancers, musicians, masks and
puppets.
