Introduction

This index to Tyler County Deed Records was made primarily to assist those interested infamily history and genealogy. The names were alphabetized without regard to the date of thetransaction, and the index was divided into two books. Book One contains the Direct Index whichrecords those transactions involving the granting or selling of property. Book Two contains theReverse Index which is comprised of those persons who received the grants or purchased property.

Deed records are available on film for most counties; however, the films may not be complete.For instance, the filmed deed records of Tyler County begin with Book A and extend through BookN, covering the period 1846 to approximately 1885. A complete set of records is available in theClerks office in each county.
