    Vocabulary

p Horizon line: where the sky meets the

    ground, a horizontal line

p Vanishing point: the place where all lines

meet or vanish, it is located on the

    horizon line

p Horizontal line: a line that goes left to

right, it is parallel to the horizon line

    More Vocabulary

p Vertical line: a line that goes up and down,

it is perpendicular to the horizon line

p Orthogonal line: lines that create the

sides of an object in one point perspective,

these lines are drawn to the vanishing point

p Surrealism: something that is real, but

    wouldnt occur in reality

    Lets get started

    p Draw a horizon line

    across your paper

    p

Put two vanishingpoints on the horizon

    line, one on both sides

    of your paper

  • 7/31/2019 Two Point Perspective-1

    6/23

Now draw a vertical line through the middle

    of your paper

  • 7/31/2019 Two Point Perspective-1

    7/23

Connect the top and bottom of the vertical line to

both of the vanishing points. We are creating the

    orthogonal lines.

  • 7/31/2019 Two Point Perspective-1

    8/23

Now end the form with two vertical lines on

    each side.

  • 7/31/2019 Two Point Perspective-1

    9/23

Erase the extra orthogonal lines at the top and the

horizon line inside of the form.

DO YOU SEE YOUR FIRST BUILDING?

    Lets try another one!

Start with a vertical line on the left side of the

    building.

  • 7/31/2019 Two Point Perspective-1

    11/23

Connect the top and bottom to

    each vanishing point.

  • 7/31/2019 Two Point Perspective-1

    12/23

End the building with a vertical line.

  • 7/31/2019 Two Point Perspective-1

    13/23

Erase the extra orthogonal lines and horizon

    line inside of the building.

  • 7/31/2019 Two Point Perspective-1

    14/23

    Lets do another one!

  • 7/31/2019 Two Point Perspective-1

    15/23

Now for doors and windows!Start with a vertical line and connect it to the

    vanishing point.

  • 7/31/2019 Two Point Perspective-1

    16/23

If your window or door is on the left side of your

building, connect the vertical lines to the left

vanishing point. The same goes for the right side.

  • 7/31/2019 Two Point Perspective-1

    17/23

End the windows and doors with another

    vertical line.

  • 7/31/2019 Two Point Perspective-1

    18/23

    Erase the extra orthogonal lines.

    Surrealism

p Something that is real, but wouldnt occur in

    reality

EXAMPLES:n a rabbit hole in the sidewalk

n a building made of cheese

n a penguin living in a palm tree
